On International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we celebrate women's achievements and their vital role in science. 👩🔬 Today, we are shining a spotlight on some of our team members who have chosen science as their career pathway and on our projects that aim to deliver new treatments to advance women’s health. Anna Ide, Ana Kadzanaia, Sara Babic Ljubojevic, Matea Krile, Simmi Trehan, Henna Alanko, Tea Borojević and Isidora Perkucin Vojinovic shared with us why they are passionate about science, their experiences working in science-related fields, and why they believe more people should consider pursuing a career in science. Today and every day, we are truly proud of all our brilliant women and their contributions to clinical research, as well as all our female patients participating in clinical trials, such as SPIOMET4HEALTH project, who are making a significant impact on advancing human health globally. 🚀 🌍 #womeninscience #internationaldayofgirlsandwomeninscience #STEM #science #womeninstem

President & CEO Cena Life Inc. and passionate RN who advocates for better access to mental health supports.
In my role as a CEO in the emerging industry of psychedelic therapy and as a part of the broader healthcare sector, I've become aware of the scarcity of women in high-profile leadership positions. I believe this isn't merely about the absence of women; but reflects systemic issues in our professional realms, pervasive even in progressive fields like ours. I often find myself questioning why the presence of women is so limited. Is it an issue of visibility, a lack of opportunity, or societal norms not fully addressed yet in this emerging healthcare sector? These questions shape my approach to leading Cena Life Inc. and fuel a drive to find solutions that bring more women to the forefront in our industry. Psychedelic therapy, much like the larger healthcare field, values innovation and open-mindedness, presenting a unique opportunity to champion change. Our commitment to diversity must be genuine, seen not as an obligation but as integral to the growth of our industry. Acknowledging these challenges and seeking inclusive solutions can bring innovation and pave the way for a more equitable future in Psychedelic leadership across healthcare. I am deeply grateful for grassroots groups like Women in Psychedelics Network and Celebrating Women in Psychedelics, who are instrumental in bringing together women leaders and early adopters to spearhead this movement in healthcare and beyond. #psychedelictherapy #womenleaders

VP, Group Director Experience Strategy @TBWA | ⭐️HBA Rising Star & Miami Events Planner⭐️ l Follow for Leadership Inspiration 🌻 l Innovation Pilot ✈️ l DEI Champion 🌎 l WhyRafa.com
Loved attending the panel today “Male allyship in the Modern Workplace”, organized by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association at my very own undergrad school University of Miami - organized by my dear friend and healthcare star Massiel M. Nunez . Why allyship? The numbers are staggering: - Only 15% of healthcare systems have female CEOs - Only 13 of the world’s 193 Presidents are women 🌎 - Female physicians earn 24% less than male. And Latinas are the lowest paid group - 74% of females are harassed in medical training - It’s estimated, it will take 140 years for women to be represented equally in positions of leadership! 🙌We can’t wait that long🙌 The amazing panelists and #HBA moderator, Mari Escalón, MD, MS, MBA, shared personal stories, discussed barriers, and opportunities, dealing with implicit bias, and fostering an inclusive workplace. Thank you: - Krishna Komanduri who shared so many lessons about hidden bias in healthcare and how allies can help make change happen- so that more smart women (like his talented tripelet daughters) can run the world one day! - Steven G. Ullmann who brought a world of stories and stats through the decades, and enlightening perspectives (all approved by his wife of course 😉) - Chris Brennan for sharing more takes on mentorship and building a better future for his young girls (who already look up to mom, the entrepreneur!) And what can we do more of? 💪 Be thoughtful, reflective, and intentional 🎙️Asking is not enough, share stories of accomplishments 🤝Networking with a purpose - find your Allies, Sponsors, and Mentors. They may already be there waiting in the side lines (you may just not have noticed them yet!) Until the next one! #DEI #HealthEquity #WomenInLeadership #FemaleLeaders #allyshipmatters

What does Women’s History Month mean to you? In celebration of #WomensHistoryMonth, we interviewed female leaders at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies on their career experiences and values. Meet Melanie Neal, Vice President, Global Commercial Excellence. “To me, International Women’s Day and the month of March is a time to celebrate and learn from what women have overcome and achieved before us. It is also a time to be both reflective and intentional about how we create a more equitable, accessible, and inclusive environment for women and girls around the world. One of the most significant lessons I have learned throughout my career is to surround yourself with people who believe in you, will encourage you to achieve your potential, and will be there to support you when things aren’t going as planned. Everyone needs help at some point. Don’t wait too long to reach out. And remember that someday you will be the one someone is reaching out to.” Melanie also shares her advice to other women pursuing a career in the medical field. “No matter what your role, if you work in the healthcare industry you are having a positive impact on patients, their families, and friends. Your work makes a difference in a space where innovation and excellence save and improve lives EVERY SINGLE DAY. “ More to come in the next few days! #FemaleEmpowerment #DEI
