WOMEN ARE 17% MORE LIKELY TO DIE IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND A WHOPPING 73% MORE LIKELY TO BE INJURED, according to US research data. To women in automotive: when you drive your car, does the seat belt slip up from your hips and go over your lower stomach instead? Are the head restraints in the wrong place? Does the seat belt cross your neck even if on the lowest notch? Does the seat belt carve between your boobs? Can you not adjust the seat height high enough? Do the occupant sensors think you’re not in the seat? This is because the industry uses the crash test dummy of a small man rather than one designed to emulate the female body. Male crash test dummies were designed for the safety of pilots in the early 20th century - a largely male population. They were then applied in automotive - an almost gender balanced population back in the 70s, and definitely balanced today. The men in charge saw no reason to have a different approach for women. If we had gender-balanced diverse teams of engineers, OEM boards, regulators and NCAP officials I believe this would not be happening. It is not acceptable to allow a woman to be at greater risk than men, yet sex disaggregated data is only recently being explored. Fair play to Volvo Cars for taking action and now using an accurate female crash test dummy. We need more women to be in positions of influence in automotive, and we need to invest in them and the female customer - it will save lives. We need to stop defaulting to the male version of a customer or employee and recognise females as well. Join our InspIring Conversation to explore this further👇.

I am extremely delighted to host a workshop for Women Automotive Network on the 30th November with Karoline Kalt. We will talk about the great efforts being made at Vitesco Technologies to ensure a culture where every employee has a stake in #diversityequityandinclusion , led by our CDO Florencia Stanfield, the DE&I office including Courtney Carpineti and Eugenia Apolzan, and our amazing DE&I community. We are glad to represent our Women of Vitesco Technologies ERG and will be talking about the impact of DE&I on culture, business and self. Please register for the event to know more : https://bit.ly/46usF6b I came across a situation today that left me perplexed and inspired, because it validated the problem that is disparity. I am currently on vacation and traveling a lot. Today, while waiting for a train at a station that had both a ladies and a gents waiting room, I noticed that the men's room was bustling with men, but so was the ladies room! Many women were struggling to find a seat for themselves in the ladies waiting room as the seats were preoccupied by men. I tried to employ logical thinking before jumping to a conclusion. There were definitely a proportional number of women and men traveling. Then why did this scenario exist? I couldn't help but equate this scenario with the corporate world, where on the one hand there is agitation on having too many women-centric programs, however, despite all the programs, the disparity gets worse especially for the senior roles, in that the proportion of women in senior roles is usually not representative and much lower than the initial proportion of women in the workforce, which is not very promising to begin with. Regarding our ill-fated ladies room above, there was finally a police officer who happened to be a woman and noticed the situation. She brought about a swift change and made the appropriate seating situation possible, restoring my faith in able leadership and authority to bring a change, no matter the dismal state of the moment. I hope we all find and be the leaders who can inspire such change. We are doing our bit together with Women Automotive Network to hold important conversations on DE&I. Hope to see you there! #WomenofVitesco #vitescotechnologies #womeninautomotive #womeninleadership

Happy Women's Day! 🌟 On this International Women's Day, I want to share a crucial message with my network. At Autoindustriale Mobility Group , we recognize the indispensable role that women play in the automotive industry. Our sector thrives on diversity and workforce heterogeneity, and we firmly believe that diversity is the key component for rapid and innovative developments. 🚗 Despite our efforts, we find that it remains a challenge to attract female talents, especially in traditionally male-dominated roles such as technical professions and management positions. This discrepancy is something I not only want to highlight but also actively address. 💼 To all the women out there: We encourage you to step into these exciting fields and become part of our journey. Your perspectives, skills, and innovation power are exactly what we need to move forward together. 📣 I invite every woman to join us and shape the future of the automotive industry together. At Autoindustriale Mobility Group , you are welcome to advance your career and make a significant impact. #InternationalWomensDay #DiversityInTech #CareersInAutomotive #WomenInTech #WomenInLeadership

Conference Director CTI SYMPOSIUM AUTOMOTIVE POWERTRAIN SYSTEMS I Bringing together international experts I Discussing latest strategies & developments I Providing valuable industry updates and business opportunites
𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 @ CTI SYMPOSIUM - Automotive • Powertrain • Systems It was one of my personal highlights at CTI SYMPOSIUM GERMANY 2023: 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 a meet & network opportunity especially for our female delegates. Although the timing of the coffee break prevented some of them from attending as they were tied up at the stands, the meeting was very much welcomed and appreciated. Our "Femal Coffee Lounge" was opened by the amazing Tanja Wielgoss, multi-entrepreneur and in the middle of setting up a new company, she took the time to get the conversations started. With her sympathic, refreshing manner she made it very comfortable for everyone 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. Starting with this meeting we want to accelerate the networking of women in the industry and increase their visibility. At the same time we want to encourage women of all sectors to attend such events and take advantage of the opportunity to share professional and personal eperiences. Another aim is to get more female experts on stage. How to achieve this was very well described by the experiences of the female speakers at this event. Let´s be clear: this is not about excluding men. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀, 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘆𝗲-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱/𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵❗ At CTI we will continue this dialogue in the future, with different formats, topics and constellations. Reflections on the Women Automotive Network Europe 2023 Summit 🎤 Looking back at last years Europe Summit, the feedback has been truly inspiring. It reinforces the significance of our efforts to support and uplift women in the automotive industry, particularly in leadership roles. Melanie Schuttenberg, Vice President at Flex, noted: "It is important to support Women in Automotive as we have not yet achieved an equal share, especially in management positions. Until this is a reality, we must continue to speak up." Andrea Seidel, Director of IT Infrastructure at Daimler Truck AG, commented on the atmosphere: "It’s hard to describe the special kind of energy and vibe present from the start of the conference. I met so many great, interesting, and powerful women." Watch a snippet of the highlights from last year here: https://lnkd.in/dkzhRefN These comments highlight the energising and empowering environment our summit creates. It’s more than just a conference; it's a community coming together to push for meaningful change and support each other in our professional journeys. 🔜 Don't miss out - follow the link to view this years agenda. https://lnkd.in/dK9U9jHj #WomenAutomotiveNetwork #EuropeSummit2023 #DiversityAndInclusion #AutomotiveIndustry #WomenAutomotiveNetwork #Sustainability #Innovation #Partnership #BetterTogether #WomenAutomotiveNetwork #WomeninAuto

Alone at the top! We're all familiar with the studies, headlines, and news stories that highlight powerful women who break free from societal norms. A lot has changed in recent years, that’s what we would all agree to, but the journey needs to continue of having more women sitting on influential chairs. One of my highlights this year paying off onto this journey: Being a founding member of the Deloitte’s Women @ the Wheel initiative together with 10 further board and management women from the automotive sector. We want to break the social norms (especially in the male-dominated automotive sector) to normalize what should be normal: having more women at the table. Beginning of September, we reached our first milestone by welcoming 100 more participants to the initiative at our Women @ the Wheel Brunch, to kick-off the IAA in Munich. Although I couldn't attend in person, our initiative team returned with valuable insights, fresh ideas, and inspirational approaches that we're committed to push forward.. I want to extend my special gratitude to German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA)' Boss Hildegard Müller for supporting our mission as well as to Jumana Al-Sibai, who, alongside Britta Mittlefehldt, engaged in an inspiring Fireside Chat, addressing various (career-related) questions. Our motto: Empowered women empower women! By sharing our personal stories, we aim to learn, grow, and inspire one another. Many thanks to Britta Mittlefehldt, Dr. Christine Wolter, Sandra Göttlinger , Sina Staudacher, Antonia Biehler, Leah Matthiesen, Luisa Kattinger, Astrid Engel and Maddy Hermkens for your unwavering commitment to driving this initiative on top of your projects and client work. And thank you Harald Proff for your commitment to more female leadership in automotive. We have ambitious plans and eagerly anticipate what lies ahead! If you're part of the automotive industry and wish to join our initiative, please let me (via direct message) or our team (via mail [email protected]) know. We also do have a LinkedIn group where we share news, insights and things that inspire us: https://lnkd.in/dR7pSeVR Happy about everyone who joins & bringing awareness to this topic!! 🛞🛞🛞 #WomenAtTheWheel #FemaleLeadership #Inspire #Enhance #Advance
