✨ Are we entering the golden era for advertising leadership? ✨ Our WACL President Nishma Patel Robb shared her thoughts on the current state of leadership in the advertising industry in Campaign Magazine UK earlier this week. Here are some key points and takeaways: 📈 There has been a positive surge in leadership changes over the past couple of weeks e.g Miranda Hipwell, Suzy Ryder, Dame Annette King DBE and Pip Hulbert. 📈 The shift in the CEO statistic, currently at 37.5% women at the C-suite level, is slowly progressing, particularly within creative agencies. 📈 There is a need for robust support for the new cohort of senior leaders. 📈 There are beginning to be greater opportunities available to, and by, senior women across the industry. 📈 Women are taking greater control of the world of work to suit them and their teams, whether this is through creating new businesses or new ways of working. 📈 Women in senior positions are important for the rising female talent, not only to act as role models but also for opportunities. 📈 There is still much more to be done when it comes to intersectionality at the top, particularly among LGBTQ+ communities and non-white communities.
