The association consists of a group of volunteers, mostly undergrad, graduate, and PhD students, that are devoted to fostering the machine learning community in Poland and Europe and promoting a deep understanding of machine learning. Despite the conference being organized by volunteers in their free time, the years of experience, well-defined structure of the management, and knowledge transfer between senior and junior members of the association ensure mostly smooth organization of a large-scale international event, which is ML in PL CONFERENCE. 100% of the profits from the conference are used to support the organization of the next editions of ML in PL Conference and our Machine Learning Summer Schools. Meet the team Thursday! 👋 ▶️ COMMIT The Community Media Institute for Continuing Education, Research and Consulting (COMMIT) is a non-profit organization established in 2010, in Austria. As its name suggests, it works to train, monitor and disseminate research focused on non-commercial media. In addition to this, COMMIT closely collaborates with organizations focusing on the areas of education and communication. Within MeDeMAP, COMMIT is coordinating the works within work package 6 - Supply meets demand, alongside other consortium institutions. This work package aims to contribute to a broad knowledge about the connection between the media and citizens, in order to understand how their intervention (for example, through European citizens' parliaments) benefits this relationship and, consequently, the countries’ democratic performance. ❤️ 📈 👏 I am still exhausted, overwhelmed, and inspired from this past week. Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP Global) at #AFPICON hosted a wonderful few days of educational sessions, inspiring speakers, and brought together passionate, caring, and fun fundraising professionals. My three biggest takeaways from the conference are: ✅ BE OPEN: There is so much information to be gained. There are so many presentations to attend that it can be overwhelming. I think we all know the basics, but there are so many nuances and so much information that can allow us to unlock greater possibilities for what we can accomplish in this sector. I found myself sometimes creating barriers to what I believed was right or wrong as I listened to a session, but when we work with donors, we have to listen with open hearts, and I think the same perspective exists when we connect with our experienced colleagues. I need to be more open and you can to. ✅ LEAN FORWARD: this conference is an opportunity to meet new people, explore new ideas and further your profession, and ultimately the sector as a whole. It can be overwhelming to try to attend everything that happens at the conference, but we as fundraisers have to lean forward into this work by pushing ourselves to make the most of it. there is no need to be shy about connecting with somebody new. There is no reason to feel insecure about your own professional experience in the context of people who have done it for years longer. Lean forward the opportunity to gain the knowledge and the network that you deserve. ✅ HAVE FUN: I came to the conference to learn and grow, but if you're not having fun in the process, this might not be the profession for you. Meeting other fundraisers from across the globe and sharing aspects of life together made the conference that much more valuable for me. You can learn and have fun too, and that's exactly what I did. 🎉 🎉 🎉
