The #CarbonFootprint of air travel is a major issue for the aerospace and defence (A&D) industry, which emitted more than 1 billion tonnes of CO2 in 2018 before dropping due to the impact of COVID-19. #DigitalTwins are enabling the #AviationIndustry to improve #sustainability not only through operational efficiencies, but also in design. At this year's Farnborough Airshow, sustainability is one of our key pillars for the show. Join us at #FIA2024 to learn more about the future of aviation and how the industry can decarbonise. Download our 'Mirroring Reality' report to learn more on how digital twins can support your sustainability efforts, or meet us on stand #1211 in Hall 1 at the Farnborough Airshow to find out more. https://lnkd.in/emvtVwGt #AerospaceAndDefence

🌍✈️ Excited to be part of the conversation on the future of aviation and sustainability ! ✈️🌍 I am thrilled to announce that I will be present in the upcoming Aviation Forum held in Hamburg Germany, during which, among many other topics, we will tackle a pressing issue at the forefront of the industry: "Charting the Course to Net-Zero Aviation: Exploring Promising Technologies and Innovation for a Green Future." 🌿 As the aviation industry, faces unprecedented challenges, the urgency to chart a sustainable course has never been greater. The global call for net-zero emissions and a greener aviation sector demands immediate action and innovation. I'll be sharing insights on what Dassault Systèmes is currently doing to catalyze and enable sustainable innovation in the #aviation industry and I can't wait to learn from other thought leaders in the field. Save the date: December 6th, 2023 in #Hamburg And learn more about how Dassault Systemes enables sustainability in the aviation sector: https://lnkd.in/ejnFNNQ3 #aviationforum #3DS #Sustainability Aviation Forum
How can promising technologies and innovations lead the way to a sustainable future that results in net-zero aviation? These and other questions will be discussed in the Panel Discussion at the Aviation Forum 2023. We look forward to the insights of Frank Haselbach (Airbus), Gaël Méheust (CFM International (CFM)), Colin Mahoney (Collins Aerospace), Olivier Ribet (Dassault Systèmes) and Pierre Hamelin (Air Liquide), hosted by Klaus Mueller (AeroDynamic Advisory). Discuss with the experts and network with the entire aerospace supply chain in Hamburg: https://lnkd.in/eNnkw4M4 #afo23 #aviationforum #aviation #aerospace #exhibition #conference #networking

90 years ago today, on 20 April 1914, Howard Pixton flew a Sopwith Tabloid floatplane to victory in the Schneider Trophy. Pixton completed the 28 laps of a 10km triangular course at Monaco in 2 hours, 13 minutes and 5 seconds, averaging 85.4mph. It was the first British win in the contest, which Great Britain would ultimately win outright in 1931 at an average speed of 340.08mph. Competition has long spawned improvement and innovation in aviation, do we need more prizes in 2024 to encourage further aerospace development? #avgeek #sustainableaviation #airracing #schneidertrophy

Aviation innovation will be everywhere next week at Farnborough International Airshow. While there will be a lot of discussion about climate-neutral-by-2050 goals (like the EU’s) and what technology might help get us there in 26 years, such as hydrogen-electric powertrains, it’s helpful to look back at another 26-year period where aviation advanced in game-changing ways: the immediate aftermath of WWII. We dug into the details recently and it gave us hope for 2050! https://lnkd.in/eDSDcDHq #aviation #hydrogen #zeroemission #FIA2024
