Launches 2024 Rhizol In-Field Observations Program ProGro Bio's second annual nationwide in-field Rhizol microbial soil inoculant program spans 370 plots in 26 states, demonstrating its efficacy across numerous crops for hundreds of participants. Happy to share a new article in collaboration with Tomas during our stay at ETH Zurich! The article discusses the interaction of vermicompost with labeled N and P fertilizers, and how adding a small organic fraction together with mineral fertilizers can affect the nutrient use efficiency. Highlights: -Adding low quantities of vermicompost together with mineral fertilizers reduces phosphorus movement in soil. -Lower P mobility in soil caused by vermicompost is linked to reduced phosphorus uptake by Italian ryegrass. -Vermicompost has potential as an organic matrix for organo-mineral fertilizers with low organic C content

The way companies approach biologicals products in general, and biostimulants in particular, seems reminiscent of the way people approached California in the mid-19th century when gold was discovered around Sutter’s Mill, in Coloma, CA. In 1848, there were 4,000 miners. A year later, that figure jumped to 80,000 and by 1855 more than 300,000 made their way to the region. As interest in biostimulants has grown, companies from around the world have invaded the space hoping to make their fortune. And like the gold rush, most won’t, and eventually a shakeout will leave top players, those willing to invest in science, marketing, and education that lead to effective solutions will become the leaders. Scaling microalgae has always been a challenge, but not when you crack the code on the biggest challenges. We’ve done just that.🤓🦠📈 Traditionally, there have been two cultivation methods: 1️⃣ Heterotrophic(Fermentation): Low cost, high yields, consistency, scalability. But with one major drawback—product limitation in the absence of light. This method excels in efficiency, but struggles to produce high-value products like high-quality functional proteins, polar lipids, pigments and other vital ingredients. 2️⃣ Phototrophic(Using light): A pathway to high-value products, strain variety, and multi-product potential. However, this method often falls short in terms of scalability and cost efficiency. Why choose between them? We asked ourselves that question. Instead of limiting ourselves, we decided to harness the strengths of both. Our solution? Mixotrophy—a groundbreaking approach that combines the best of both worlds. But it wasn’t easy. We faced three major challenges on this journey: 💡Creating a solution that efficiently illuminates the entire reactor volume. 🥣Developing effective mixing to keep our cultures thriving. 🥼Perhaps the biggest challenge of all, ensuring a sterile environment at scale. Today, we’re proud to say we’ve overcome these challenges and more. New exciting #collaboration!   A few weeks ago our Product Development Manager, Claus Rosensparre, went on a trip to Hirtshals to participate in the Kick-off meeting of #EHFAF at the DTU Aqua facilities.   ALGIECEL has together with Aller Aqua, DTU Aqua, and Skagen Salmon teamed up and started a new project collaboration. We will together be testing the use and #nutritional benefits of using #microalgae in salmon RAS production. Corteva Agriscience launches biological Utrisha N in Brazil Corteva launches Utrisha N in Brazil and the product is applied foliarly and approved for corn cultivation. It allows the plant to obtain nitrogen throughout its life cycle according to its needs. The bacterium in Utrisha N’s formulation is *Methylobacterium symbioticum*, which can capture nitrogen available in the air and transform it into ammonium for the plant. This process naturally improves the plant's vitality and helps the crop reach its maximum growth and productivity potential. Additionally, Utrisha N is compatible with other solutions for even more sustainable management. Strain of *Methylobacterium symbioticum* enters through the stomata of the leaves and completely colonizes the plant within seven days of application. This bacterium converts the nitrogen available in the air into ammonium nitrogen for the plant, naturally improving its vitality and helping the crop reach its maximum growth and productivity potential. Another significant differential is that the nitrogen resulting from Utrisha N’s action is not susceptible to everyday occurrences in traditional fertilization processes, such as leaching (nitrogen being washed into the subsoil), volatilization (nutrient loss through evaporation due to temperature), and denitrification (conversion into gaseous state caused by bacteria).
