What does leadership look like at your hub / organization? At the Jax Shapers Hub, leadership follows this democratic structure. The Curatorship leads the Hub with the Curator and Vice-Curator roles being elected by vote every February. The Impact Officer, all other officer/chair roles, and project leads are selected via nomination or volunteered by individual shapers. Shapers are encouraged to volunteer for Leadership roles and it is in fact possible to propose new roles or a blend of roles to the Curatorship at any time - we are always willing to support you in your leadership goals and see how this hub can shape forward together! This is how we shape forward and create impact for our members and our community via our service work. The roles listed here are outlined in our Hub Charter which is revised with each Curatorship term. Jax Shapers, please review the Charter to see our best practices and policies, and always feel encouraged to discuss your leadership goals with the Curatorship. 💙

Three key priority areas came out of the Atlantic Growth Strategy Leadership Committee Meeting in Moncton on Tuesday: 1. Leveraging population growth and attracting and retaining a strong workforce 2. Encouraging more productivity and competitiveness 3. Advancing the move to a net-zero, green economy These areas play into the strengths of the region, and with a collaborative effort from the federal and provincial governments, continued success will be seen in all parts of Atlantic Canada. Tough to argue with these three priorities. The good news is we have positive momentum on 1) population growth and 3) progressing towards a greener economy. The #2 priority, #productivity , is of concern. Canada actually regressed backwards to 2017 productivity levels (per June 2023 data. I have not seen Atlantic data, but it is most likely similar to national data). Declining productivity means declining competitiveness and inevitably declining standard of living. We need to reverse direction on this trend and introduce startegies that incentivise technology adoption and market-driven #innovation

Defence & Security | Risk Leadership | Training & Development | Research | Emergency and Resilience Management
We are initiating 'Youth Leadership Conventions' to instil discipline while empowering the youth to prepare for our current world. Due to technological mutations and post-COVID-19 impact, the world is being described variously as VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous), BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Non-linear and Incomprehensible), RUPT (Rapid, Unpredictable, Paradoxical, and Tangled) and TUNA (Turbulent, Uncertain, Novel, and Ambiguous). In the face of all these, people, especially the Youth, require a guide to be agile and disciplined to make choices that will help them appreciate today for better positioning in future. As a not-for-profit entity, led by risk leadership professionals, the Crossbridge Leadership Institute team has put together this onsite/campus engagement to expose the youth to the risk environment while empowering them to face the challenges ahead. Come join us in this drive.

Read our past report, Implementing Systemwide Changes in the CSU, authored by Thad Nodine and Robert Gabriner. This report found that the Academy served as a catalyst in helping campus teams address resistance and take advantage of opportunities for substantive change through leadership, communications, and networking. As a result, the Academy appears to be well positioned, with additional supports and resources, to facilitate and deepen campus efforts to address long-standing issues such as equity. The Role of the Board During Leadership Transitions - by Valtas Group In too many cases, a nonprofit board’s approach to leadership turnover is hectic, not well thought out or planned, reactive instead of proactive. Most often, the board is group of passionate, well-meaning volunteers who are now faced with the single most important role they will have: selecting a new leader. How the board navigates the transition will directly impact the future and potential viability of the organization. https://hubs.ly/Q02dXyQl0 #cfoselections
