Neoprene diving suits have enabled us to see underwater magic for many years. But neoprene is a material intrinsically tied to petroleum. What if there was a more environmentally friendly solution than neoprene? Developed jointly with Yulex LLC, this suit replaces neoprene with natural rubber. Our collaboration with the passionate family-driven American business, Yulex, introduced us to the future of wetsuits. The YULEX 100, designed exclusively for water sports, is crafted from 100% natural rubber. This material drastically reduces CO2 emissions by 82% compared to traditional foam. And the benefits don't stop there; the rubber we use is ethically sourced from certified forests, emphasizing our deep commitment to sustainability. A sincere thank you to Yulex and our ingenious teams for working hard on this sustainable shift. Water-sports enthusiasts and ocean lovers, as we navigate this transformative journey, what's the next wave of innovation you hope for? #Innovation #Yulex100 #SustainableDiving #Decathlon #DecathlonLinkedIn Jeff Martin I Kyrrha Martin I Franck Vigo I FABIEN BROSSE I Tommaso Luccini I Guillaume Guery I Julien Cazelles I Jerome Dussillols I caroline REVET I Thibaut Vierling

Just great what you're doing with environmentally friendly solutions at Decathlon. I can't wait to try this new stuff (when my current wetsuit will be definitely out of order :-) )

As a surfer I am looking forward to reduce my impact!

Well done Decathlon France ! How flexible is this Yulex LLC natural rubber compare to high-end limestone neoprene on the market? This could be, in my opinion, the remaining pain point for demanding water sports.

This is great news for the industry, and it’s quite exciting to see one of the biggest player for water sport like Decathlon taking action on this. A few questions still, as Yulex is not something new: - what about your pricing? The mission of Decathlon is to make sport accessible to the many, and from my knowledge Yulex is much expensive than a classic neoprene. - will you be using Yulex for the whole range of wetsuits? Only diving? How does it work? When will it be available? That’s a pretty nice shift in terms of priority, keep going ✌️
