Service dogs come in all shapes, sizes, and breeds! 🌟 Whether they're a Labrador Retriever, a Golden Retriever, a Poodle, or any other breed, what truly matters is their temperament, training, and ability to perform tasks that assist their handler with disabilities. It's essential to recognize that service dog candidates are evaluated based on their individual characteristics, including temperament, health, and suitability for the tasks required by their handler. 🎓 Furthermore, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities who use service animals, regardless of breed. I'd like to share a few details about DEA's members-only Leaders' Forum, to be held in Adelaide on 8th November. If you're a member, please remember to register. During the first part of the day, we will be welcoming a trio of headliners at the very centre of the future of disability employment. In truth, I could scarcely imagine three speakers more pertinent to our members and those they serve.    Clearly, it is highly significant that Minister Rishworth coming to speak. It is some time since she has given a major address to outline her vision for the future of disability employment to our sector. It promises to be an important moment as she speaks after the release of the Disability Royal Commission Report and the Employment White Paper, giving us an opportunity to hear directly about how she sees the future of disability employment within that context.    DSS Deputy Secretary Robyn Shannon will then discuss the Department’s priorities in executing that vision - taking in the Quality Framework, Disability Employment Centre for Excellence, NDIS/DES pilot, the emerging performance framework and much besides.    Lisa Paul, Co-Chair of the NDIS Review, will run us through the latest developments in that Review as it draws its final conclusions and prepares to publish its recommendations, which will shake up the NDIS as we know it.    Between the three, a picture will be painted where we will see the shape of disability employment to come, and we should all ask ourselves – how will my organisation fare in that landscape? And regardless of whether that organisational fit is good, bad, or indifferent, how can I better equip myself, my team, and those we serve for that future? That's the focus for the second half of the day.
