Global Airlines, a #british startup carrier, announced on Friday that it has fully acquired an Airbus A380 jet previously held by China Southern Airlines. The 11-year-old plane, known as MSN 120, has been in storage in the Mojave Desert since December 2022, when it completed the necessary return-to-service #maintenance and was re-registered in Malta as 9H-GLOBL, according to the #business, without specifying the price. Purchasing an #aircraft is an interesting decision for Global because airlines, particularly startups, normally do not seek used A380s. "A lot of people predicted we wouldn't get this far, and I couldn't be happier to be giving MSN 120 a second chance," #Globalfounder and CEO James Asquith said, according to Simple Flying on Monday. "Purchasing an aircraft takes a phenomenal amount of time, and over the past year, we, with support from partners, have been putting the building blocks in place to take full #ownership of the aircraft and plan its first flight," he said. However, MSN 120 is not the same plane that Global claimed to have acquired in May 2023. According to CNN, the aircraft was registered as 9H-MIP and previously belonged to #singaporeairlines, not China Southern. CNN stated at the time that the agreement was worth "eight figures." It is unclear what occurred with 9H-MIP. Global did not immediately react to inquiries concerning the two distinct A380 aircraft. Following the purchase of MSN 120, Global intends to acquire three more A380s and commence #commercialflights "later this year," the company stated. However, the Center for Aviation indicated that the schedule had already been pushed back from this spring to late 2024. According to CNN, the airline wants to fly #transatlantic between the United States and the United Kingdom, beginning in London and continuing to New York and Los Angeles. Portuguese charter airline HiFly, with #airbus help, will operate the planes on Global's behalf while the company pursues its own aircraft operator's certificate, Flight Global stated. "The renaissance of the A380 is really the focus of Global Airlines," HiFly CCO Richard Stephenson stated in a December video broadcast by the company. "We're going to be responsible for a huge part of that secondary market for the A380, and the second coming of the A380." Asquith, a #travelexpert noted for becoming the youngest person to visit every country on the planet, established Global in 2021. Despite his confidence, Asquith has faced criticism for the airline's projected #businessplan, particularly because the A380 did not meet Airbus's commercial expectations. https://lnkd.in/fzpnPPW #superjumbo #aviation #airline #startup #globalairlines #businesstravel #tourism #A380 #news #britishstartup #startupairline #newairline #newyork #businesschallenge #aviationinnovation CAPA - Centre for Aviation Benjamin Safari FlightGlobal Christina Gadsby Katie Mann Travel Weekly

Indigo is popular for its low cost model in Indian aviation sector. This time, it has something new, or can we say quite expected, in its arsenal to attract passengers and grow its business. Not shrinking its ticket prices but planned for stretching its services now. By November 2024, Indigo is launching business class service, 'Stretch'. First flite is planned to fly on Delhi Mumbai route. Eventually, it will then scale up to other metro-to-metro routes by end of 2025. This thought of expansion seems to be raised from these perspectives: 1. At present, only Air India & Vistara have business and premium class services. Indigo can tap this opportunity to serve into these classes combined with the opportunity to target domestic corporate traffic. 2. People are also aspiring to fly and have disposable income to accomplish this aspirations. They are willing to pay premium for priority services and comfort. So, why not to Stretch? **** Along with this, by end of FY2024-25, Indigo is also planning to start catering its services into mid-haul category targeting destinations of Europe and Japan. Thus, expanding into international market. Further, in the long term, it is aspiring to expand in long-haul category as well, with the proposition of 'more business with more planes'. **** Importantly, Indigo has aim to pursue these targets without compromising its competitive edge in cost leadership. Interesting to look in this phase of growth, how Indigo remains dedicated to providing choice, affordability, and a superior flying experience to its customers. **** If you are into a business or willing to get into or simply interested to read more about #business , #management , #strategy , #entrepreneurship , #internationalbusiness etc. follow PRATIK BHARATI . Under the ACMI model, Fly 4 will not sell tickets or initiate flights. Instead, the airline will specialize in offering capacity solutions to carriers, particularly Enter Air and TUI. Director & Active Trader at TraderSync | Elevating Trading Performance for 10K+ Global Users | Passionate about Market Strategies
Akasa Air is now the go-to choice of Indians, started with 72 Boeing planes back in 2021 with 340 percent year-on-year growth in revenue in FY24 As a trader and entrepreneur, I'm always fascinated by success stories, especially if it is from a former Stock market legend "Late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala" Here's how they did it: 1. Bold Vision: Launched during the pandemic, Akasa Air shows that opportunities exist even in challenging times. 2. Rapid Growth: From 0 to 4% market share in less than 2 years. That's impressive in a market dominated by giants like IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) and Tata Group airlines. 3. Smart Partnerships: Vinay Dube's team of industry experts and backing from the 'Big Bull' Late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. It's a reminder that the right team can make all the difference. 4. Innovative Approach: Offering stock options to attract talent - a tech startup move in the aviation sector. Sometimes, thinking outside the box is key to success I feel. 5. Focus on Sustainability: Using fuel-efficient engines and recycled materials. In today's world, being environmentally conscious is not just good PR, it's good business. 6. Customer Experience: From unique uniforms to diverse meal options, Akasa is focusing on differentiating itself. In any business, including trading, standing out is crucial. What impresses me most is Akasa's ability to carve out a niche in a crowded market. It's something we can all learn from, whether we're in aviation, trading, or any other field. As traders, we often face a market dominated by big players. Akasa's story shows that with the right strategy, innovation, and focus on customer needs, newcomers can not only survive but thrive. What's your take on Akasa's journey? Do you see parallels with your own business or trading experiences? Share your thoughts below! #AkasaAir #StartupSuccess #TraderSync
