Many of us first found our passion for golf with a driver and a couple buckets of balls. This common entry point provides a prime opportunity for driving ranges to turn beginners' curiosity into a lifelong pursuit. By nurturing a newfound interest in golf, you not only expand the sport we all love but you also build a stronger customer base. Here’s how to do it: 1️⃣ Implement quality range covers that protect golfers from sun and rain, making practice comfortable anytime. 2️⃣ Utilize cutting-edge technology, like simulators and launch monitors, to add a fun, engaging element and help players track their improvement. With range covers already in place, you'll also protect this technology from the weather. 3️⃣ Create a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment with amenities like refreshments and music to create a social experience for those new to the game. With a few adjustments to your driving range, you can provide first time customers with a lifelong passion — and create loyal customers in the process.

There are lots of things happening as the weather warms up. Events galore. Bike conventions. Boat conventions. Car shows. Side-by-side events. Dirtbike races. County fairs. You name it, it’ll be happening soon. As you gear up for these activities, I just wanted to say…be careful out there. Whatever it is that brings you joy, stay safe. Not just as you partake in the fun these things bring, but also in getting there. Buckle up. Check your trailers. Your tires. Your straps. Chains. Make sure your brakes are in good condition. Plan your routes accordingly. Know your clearances for things like bridges and overpasses if you’re moving oversized items. Heed road signs and traffic indicators. Just be careful. Have fun. And once you’re there, forget all that advice until it’s time to come back home. Enjoy yourself. It’s time to get back outside. #Spring #SafetyFirst

Tam Velo Club Saturday Long Hauler Ride Meet at 8:30am at the Equator Coffees Prooflab, longer distance (typically 50-70) or elevation. Roll out at 8:35am. If any riders want a slower pace please let the others in attendance know before or during the ride. We will split into “A” and “B” groups and regroup if possible. Equipment: Please make sure your bike is functioning, bring your own basic tools, water bottles, food, etc. Helmets and working brakes are required for all rides. Etiquette: Aggressive actions like shouting at drivers or rude gestures will not be tolerated. Responsibility: we do everything possible to set a pace that works to keep the group together and regroup at certain spots, but if you can’t hold that pace the group can’t stop the ride. All riders need to be able to take responsibility for their fitness and an alternative route if necessary. Weather: Rain will cancel a ride. Rides on pavement may be canceled if rain seems likely during the ride.

“A successful rider of any skill level will be a more consistent rider and performer with a good working position in the modern forward riding system. All riders need to do position work to keep the correct design and weight distribution, which will allow the four fundamentals and all of the seven physical qualities to function well and thereby lead to a better performance of the horse.” Paul Cronin In the photos below, you’ll see comparisons of Cortne’s jumping position. She spent the past year with us focusing on her position, controls, and schooling (three elements of the American System of Forward Riding) on her lease mount Penny. Penny is a young, athletic OTTB with a big step and a huge jump despite her size. In the photos to the left, you can see Cortne “throwing her body” up the neck over a small jump. Penny “jumped” flat and landed heavily on her forehand… again over a small jump. With a focus on Cortne’s position, she is more secure, united with Penny and has a strategic placement of hands and legs for efficient and effective use. Though the jump was a tad more inviting, but still small, Penny jumped up, square and landed balanced (photos to the right). By focusing on Cortne’s position on the flat and over smaller jumps, this will help her provide Penny the ride she needs when the jumps are higher and help Cortne stay secure and confident. #equestrian #equestrianbusiness

I started building my Pit Crew... Being inspired by the F1 series "Drive to Survive", I started to look at my business from a different perspective. Let me explain. We see Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen; and we give them all the glory when we see them past the finish line (which is well deserved of course). But, if Drive to Survive has shown us anything, it's the hard work and dedication that goes on behind the scenes to allow them to pass the finish line. It's the engineers working on the cars, the tech crew and the pit crew that work together to make the race successful. You could even say, it's also the fans in the stands cheering them on and celebrating even when they don't make podium; they still bring that positive energy. As a small female owned and operated business, that has a staff of one (just me!) I started to question how much growth I could experience if I had a Pit Crew. I'd done everything independently my entire life; that it almost felt foreign to start thinking like this. When it comes to my product based business (BORN Naturals), I came to realize that I'd graduated to the point where in order for me to further succeed I in fact needed a Pit Crew. It took analyzing what each member of my pit crew would do, and who would be qualified to do that job. I found some outstanding individuals that bring something to the table (or pit in my analogy) that either I cannot do myself, can do way better than myself, or can save me time doing so I can focus on other areas of my business. It's funny how we find inspiration and perspective from places we never intended! Here's to building Pit Crew's one person at a time.

Practice Day #5: Today, I had a new experience practicing on a very wet driving range. It had rained profusely just a few hours before I arrived, and I discovered that it can get really messy at times. Now, I know the right attire for a wet day. Life follows a similar process. As we journey through it, we encounter valuable lessons that shape us. It's important to embrace the journey and adapt based on what we learn along the way. #themoralebooster #johnughulumotivation #golf
