It’s Memorial Day weekend. Who’s really outside? Like most people, I’ve been more outside and less online . I just walked in the door to check up numbers. And, after sitting in the car for while, I began reflecting on how I ended up in multiple locations. You know, thats big for me and anyone on Team Introvert. We’re not leaving our time, energy, experiences, and money up to chance. And, it had me thinking. What do Introverts, prospects, and the culture have in common? We have common questions and concerns that need addressing and answered before we talk (small talk) to you, take action or show up to an event. Our time, energy, money and food are not for play, play. Over this weekend, I realize all of my introverted friends, my people, and my perspective clients kept asking the same repetitive questions. And this is what I realized: ⏭️ They ASK rather than ASSUME: One thing is for sure and two things are for certain experiences can make a break your BBQ or brand. •Who’s all over there? •Who made the macaroni and cheese? •What time are we eating ? One or all three question are pertinent to your perspective guest or client. And if you don’t have a good answer for them, they’re not showing up. ⏭️ They need CALLS to ACTIONS: As the prior stated, “We gone ask”. (in my southern vernacular). But what they need are request, and appealing ones at best. 2️⃣ REQUESTS that must be present to keep cultivating this relationship are: 1. INVITATION: Did you invite anyone to the cookout? And the irony is most people don’t realize is that an invitation is a feminine CTA. I prefer approaching with request and invitations. It reduces sales reluctance, and or encourages people to show up to the party 2. CALL TO ACTION: this second type of request is asking someone to complete a task. You’re wanting to see if they’re motivated and going to put some skin in the game. Whether you ask them to bring a bag of ice or potato chips or ask them to opt in to your email list, it’s all the same You’re looking to see if there’s an interest. Are you open to invest in this mutually rewarding relationship? Are they “gone put somethin’ on it?” Give a GOOD CTA, and find out. ⏭️ They SHOW UP: There’s not much to say about this one, it’s very self-explanatory Give an invitation or a call action, they’ll figure out how they’re going to get there. It is not up to you to attempt to convince, persuade, verbally bully, or blackmail them into showing up. Unfortunately, in business, far too many people apply one or more of these tactics, and wonder why you perpetually have to verbally tussle with your prospects, end up with empty carts, or often times the customer wants a refund after the sale. Most people don’t want to stay around in places that feel unwelcoming or uncomfortable. We all want to go where everybody knows our name and they’re always glad we came. That’s who (and how) I want in my life and on my lists. How about you?

See, this event isn't a "one-&-done" event. Sure, you can show up & celebrate just this one time. But why stop there? We get it - There never seems to be enough time for #allofthethings. But if you're not taking the time to CELEBRATE, CONNECT, & GROW, when will it happen? If you don't invite others to join you on your journey, who will remind you of the things you accomplished when you're doubting yourself? If you're not pausing to celebrate your accomplishments & growth, how will you know when you've "arrived", that you've reached a point of enoughness (& aren't just hyper-fixating on "fixing" one more aspect of yourself, or your life)? See, we've got a little secret for you. We LOVE seeing your GLOW-UP.  And we KNOW that sometimes it's hard to notice that for ourselves, because we're so in "it" - our own lives, our own minds, our habits - that the little shifts don't hit our radar. And that's where we DARE you to pause and BASK alongside us. Because we want you to realize, embrace & INSPIRE yourself AND others through your own experiences. What do you say, friend? Would you dare give yourself that opportunity? To dream bigger, to lean more on others, to celebrate yourself. If so, let's do that TOGETHER. You can be scared. You can be nervous. You can be uncertain. What you don't have to be is ALONE. If you don't want to show up alone (p.s. Landing at the airport without a backpack! There aren’t many things in this world as special as this. Oh, how good it feels. Just landing at the airport and leaving without the long baggage check-ins. But you know what’s ironic? I felt heavier without the backpack than I would, carrying it! All thanks to this man. My Ola Driver - Stanley. I had the privilege of taking his ride, on my way to the airport. As we stopped for chai on the way, he started to open up & talk about his life, how he is battling with Ola drives that ain’t helping his ends meet & provide his kids with proper education. But midway through the conversation, I realized something. He wasn’t just any ordinary driver… He is a very passionate singer too! So, we started brainstorming different ways to improve his situation. Eventually, I gave him a few suggestions. One being anchoring on this singing talent and to utilize social media to make passive incomes He asked me as HOW TO SCALE. I told him he needs to have a mindset to scale together with someone who is like minded, smarter than him and has the willingness to work towards a common goal! I said with the right team member we all can grow or run faster than we aim ! After this conversation though - I learned ONE thing. Everyone sees and perceives other people based on what they see externally. But that doesn’t even scratch the surface in terms of who the person ACTUALLY is. And this made me remember this quote by Niccolò Machiavelli "Everyone sees what you appear to be but only few experiences what you really are" So before you judge a book by its cover. At least care enough to flip through the first few pages by talking to them You never know what sort of stories they are waiting to offer you. And sometimes they turn out to be the absolute BEST! I started focusing on the game changing decisions that drive results only. I see more and more clearly the connection between the action and its result. Where are my current actions leading? To what states and results? I’m learning more and more new perceptions on the world and myself and all around is changing by miles. The world gives a respective result right away. It’s mindblowing. Breaking the old patterns is faster than we think; it starts from a decision and INNER change. That’s it. Examples? I used to be busy, 24/7 working. That draw to self-pity, stress, tiredness. I started focusing on results (money), working less and doing what brings value. And I try to scale the value. Result: more money, more value to the customers. I used to be overly self-dependent. (Don’t confuse with self-fulfillment). That led to feeling of insecurity. I’ve learned that vulnerability and asking for help, or cooperation leads to a HUGE feeling of connectedness and security. Instead of doing on my own, I try to initiate collaboration. Organizing gatherings like this on the photo leads to new friendships, partnerships and connectedness. I feel great, satisfied, surrounded by great and smart people, constantly evolving and learning, finding new connections and great people. I feel grateful. Some great things are happening in the town and I’m glad to take my part in initiating some of them, bringing in international guests, new perspective and mind-opening exchange of insights. Thank you all who take part in and participate. I’ve build gatherings for myself: worthwhile, insightful and joyful. Yet, it serves to many. My philosophy is to not pick the best from the table, But to build up my own table, and cook my own food. And then - share with others. The solution not in the fight or compromise, but in creation. 46/100 Expressing gratitude today for my 'egbon Tope,' as I fondly call him. Building connections can be tricky, as you are required to have diverse kind of people in your network to make it balanced. In your network you definitely need someone you can barge on at any time no protocols needed, he is one of those kind of people for me. Half a decade ago, Funke A and I embarked on a spontaneous trip to New York, fueled by our shared desire to take a break and do something different. Due to our busy schedule, we had little time for preparation, we just purchased our tickets and rendezvoused in the city, bypassing the usual meticulous planning we might have done if time had allowed. During our stay, I remembered my 'egbon' lived in New York. A single phone call later, and not only did he locate us, but he also graciously took us under his wing. Despite our impromptu plans not syncing seamlessly with his schedule, he made time for us. The photo capturing the three of us serves as a vivid reminder of the cherished memories from that trip. Looking back, Funke And I are grateful that we didn't succumb to the notion of waiting for the perfect plan. The trip may not have been flawless, but its imperfections gifted us with unforgettable moments and lasting memories. This instance is just one among many where he has extended his unwavering support. His presence is a gift I treasure, and I'm sincerely grateful for the dynamic and diverse connections that enrich my network. The best time to network is when you don’t need it, if you trying building connections when you urgently need it, most likely it will not work. Today I remembered a true story, told by Simon Sinek. There was this important person from the US Army, who came to give a speech at a conference. He said that last year the people who organized the conference flew him business class ✈️, and at the airport, there was someone waiting for him to take him to his hotel. The second day, someone drove him to the event, took him into the green room, and brought him coffee in a beautiful ceramic cup ☕. This year, he no longer had the position; he flew in coach, took a taxi to the hotel 🚕, took a taxi to the conference, and got himself a coffee in a Styrofoam cup. He realized that all those things were for the function he owned, not for him as a person. Functions are made for people by people. As long as you have a high function, people will open doors for you, help you, be there for you, and most likely won't say no to you. But what happens when that title is gone? We should appreciate people generally, no matter what role/rank they have in a company. That doesn't matter; all that matters is who you are as a person, how you talk and treat other people. Your actions say a lot about you as a person. So the question is, do you want people to treat you well because of your function or because you're a good person? 🤔 #alwaysimprove #bebetter #appreciate

We rise by lifting others up, not tearing them down. And it all boils down to your mindset. How? Well, if you think that the world is scarce, you’ll find yourself trying to compete with everyone you come across. Because you believe that there isn’t enough for us all to win, succeed, and have more than enough. But, when you choose to believe that there is so much more than you’ll ever need in this world… You’ll find yourself looking to build bridges for community. And you’ll see that life gets sweeter when you live it in service to help others rise higher. Jackie Hermes is a prime example of someone who lifts others up (myself included). A few months ago, I started a new online boutique and mentioned it to some of my LinkedIn community. Jackie was one of the first people to take action and purchase something from my store. She saved the dress for an extremely special occasion (her anniversary 😭😍) and then gave me + my boutique a shoutout to her 100k+ community of followers (no strings attached 😭). Why? Because she’s pretty incredible. And after watching her journey over the last 4+ years, I’m convinced that she’ll always succeed because she’s in the business of lifting others up.
