Global VP, People at HelloFresh 🍋, HR & People Leader

We are not perfect, but we are relentless in always improving, and it's feedback like this that makes it worthwhile. 👇 We all know that in the TA space ghosting isn't great. Whilst our TA team in HelloFresh is inundated with applications (and why wouldn't they be? We are a great company to work for), the balance between personalisation and efficiency is a fine line. Thank you, Sanne V., for really displaying the true HelloFresh DNA.

It’s a really tough time right now for people out of work. Please now address me as Captain Obvious. Recruiters, HR specialists, and hiring managers aren’t making it any easier. The market is rife with ghosting, form rejections, and AI-powered recruiting practices that take the humanity out of the process. Companies seem to be taking an unhurried, “hiring as usual” approach, despite a job market that will probably be remembered alongside the Dot-com Bust and the Great Recession. Though it may sound like it, I don’t blame these gatekeepers. On the contrary, I understand the challenges they face. I can’t imagine how such professionals can even do their jobs, when any given opening receives 500, 800, 1,000+ applications. When a candidate gets through the gate, however, ending up on a much shorter list, that’s when companies can really show how people-centric they are (or not). And with that in mind, I want to showcase a company that’s doing it right—HelloFresh. I recently applied for their open Head of UX Writing role, and though they ultimately passed on me, their communication throughout the process was a model for other companies to follow. - In the job posting, they committed to responding to applications within 5 business days (they reached out to me the day after I applied). - During the interview, the recruiter clearly outlined next steps and again committed to follow up within 1-2 days. - True to her word, she reached out 2 days later with a personalized email about my status (a pass). - Her email also asked for my feedback about the interview process, which I took as an invitation to ask for feedback about myself as a candidate (the holy grail that few companies ever provide). She immediately offered to set up another meeting to share such feedback, which I gratefully accepted. Too often, companies either send a form rejection or completely ghost you, even after you’ve taken time to interview. So this refreshing experience (short-lived as it was) really made HelloFresh stand out. Recruiters, take note. As a colleague said this morning, “People will remember the companies who did this when the next hiring boom comes.” That sentiment works both ways.

Yes i also have experience with HelloFresh

What an interesting, motivating and captivating compliment it's to HelloFresh company. Truly they deserve it. Though I equally look forward joining the workforce at HelloFresh in Derby, a reputable, Diversity, Equality and Inclusion company. But unfortunately, I missed out in my quest for Warehouse virtual interview on Willo because I was frightened before the camera. But still hoping to get along soon. Congratulations Mike🎉.

No suprise here. The client-centric culture & service DNA is felt all the way thru to the CS team, who also have this level of service and communication in my interactions. Well done Yasar and Hello Fresh TA team.

Yasar A., thanks for the repost -- it was my sincere pleasure to share well-earned praise for your hiring practices. If for any reason you decide to give me a second look for the Head of UX Writing role, I'd love the opportunity to speak with the hiring manager! 😎
