Well done Prathna Sekar! As semiconductor complexity grows, especially in the automotive, defense, and healthcare sectors, leveraging large SOCs and Chiplet technologies is crucial. Prathna explains the "true and present" challenges and solutions to mitigate them. IMHO, implementing a formal IP management solution is a necessity and not just a nice-to-have feature anymore to be competitive in the market.   My takeaway from watching this video is that embracing a streamlined, iterative IP-driven methodology can bring significant benefits, such as improving operational efficiency, reducing errors, and accelerating time to market. #DAC2024 #ChipDesign #SoC #Semiconductors #KeysightTechnologies #Innovation #Chiplet

#NGMM, the centerpiece of those efforts, falls under the umbrella of the agency’s Electronics Resurgence Initiative (#ERI) 2.0, which aims to address technological challenges that affect U.S. national security and commercial industry

This move makes absolute sense, however it takes about 2 years minimum to build such capacity, and then 1-2 years for the full production level. Under the condition of course that the only company in the world able to produce chip making machines designed for modern chips, located in the Netherlands, can produce and ship the required machines right now and their production capacity is not already booked. EU has similar plans, but I am afraid this is still in a discussion phase as far as I know... 😟 Which is terrible since chip making ability proves to be crucial in both of the last few conflicts we have been able to witness in the last few years.
