Give away 100% of my sales revenue… The Second Chance Shed. As a low impact and sustainable business All Gardening are launched the Second Chance Shed. I’ve been in and out of gardens for near on 20 years now. Every one that has a shed harbours and Aladins cave, a place of refuge, a small safe place. But that shed has lawn and gardening gear that was bought, but seldom used. As the gardening year passed we forget. That gear waits. It waits for someone. Now, that person it waits for might not be you. But you’ve forgotten what you bought but didnt use. Which gave me the idea. Why not donate it to us. We’ll repair, refurbish, bring it back to life. Then we’ll sell it. Then donate all the sales revenue to local community growers, growing communises, schools and collages that want to grow a garden. Every penny that comes from sales will go towards growing a sustainable & low impact community. To start we need your help. Or we think you might just have something in the shed, which is rather nice, that you don’t need. It’s a simple idea, The Second Chance Shed. Be one of the first to enquire. It’s important that we look after our planet. As a ourdodors man, I see the changes we have on our planet, we can do things differently. It’s a simple matter or caring forward. A small thing. But with a huge impact…. Cheers Phil - founder of all gardening https://lnkd.in/eBP8CzPj

NO MOW MAY, SLOW MOW SPRING 2024 “No Mow May” is a quick and catchy name for a movement that aims far beyond not mowing the yard for a month. Re-thinking the American lawn can take a variety of forms from reducing mowing frequency or area mown to permanently converting lawn to a more diverse and natural landscape. By allowing your lawn to grow longer, and letting flowers bloom, your lawn can provide nectar and pollen to help your bee neighbors thrive. Mowing less creates habitat and can increase the abundance and diversity of wildlife including bees and other pollinators. You don’t need to go a full month without mowing. Mowing every two or three weeks can increase flower blooms and provide food for hungry bees. There are several studies that illustrate how reducing the frequency of mowing benefits bees, as well as butterflies, grasshoppers, and many other insects. https://lnkd.in/ghVxqE9k Side benefits of mowing less, year-round 🐝 Save water while increasing drought tolerance: Taller grass tends to have deeper roots and less water evaporates from the soil. 🐝 Reduce air and noise pollution from gas-powered lawn equipment. 🐝 Better conditions for other invertebrates like lacewings and fireflies. They prefer longer grass. 🐝 Save time and money: So now you’re ready to invest in more native plants! Tips for keeping neighbors happy 🐞 Maintain a mowed buffer. A tidy mowed edge along sidewalks and paths can make a busy natural planting look less overwhelming, and makes these spaces look intentional rather than neglectful. 🐞 Tidy up your yard in other ways: Leave the Leaves and Save the Stems, but remove trash or broken décor, and keep fences and borders in good repair. 🐞 Put up a habitat sign to educate passersby. Bee 🐝 City USA [https://beecityusa.org/] offers free downloadable signs for No Mow May and Low Mow Spring, or you can receive a pollinator habitat sign as a thank you for your donation through the Xerces Society’s Gift Center. You can also make your own sign! https://lnkd.in/eJ7VDcUR #green #may #lawncare #lawnmower #bees #pollinators

A community garden is a shared space where neighborhood residents come together to grow and harvest fresh produce and flowers. 👩🏾🌾 It fosters a sense of community pride and brings people from all backgrounds together around the shared joy of gardening. 💚 With these 3 important things in mind, you'll be well on your way to launching your own: 👇🏾 1️⃣ Find interested volunteers 🌱 Start by talking to your neighbors to gain support and gather a list of people willing to help plan and maintain the garden. 2️⃣ Secure a location 🌱 Work with your local municipality to obtain permission to use a vacant public lot. 3️⃣ Fund the project 🌱 Create a budget for seeds, irrigation supplies, and tools and determine fundraising plans like sponsorship or membership fees. By following these tips, you can turn any empty lot into a shared green space of nourishment and joy. 🥕 #urbangardening #growyourownfood #gardener #communitygarden #backyardgardener #urbangardener

🌿 Mowing Marathon! 🚜 Hey Neighbours! 🏡 Today was all about conquering the wild grass in this massive garden project. Spent a good chunk of hours, and guess what? We're making some great progress!💪 🏞️ Garden Chronicles: This garden grass was overdue, so we're on a mission to transform it. It's a process, but we're enjoying the journey. 🌾 Mowing in Progress: Scroll, tap, or swipe, for the transformation: Still got some work ahead, but progress is our middle name! SPOILERS... (it's not actually our middle name). 🤝 A Gift That Keeps Giving: What makes this mowing adventure extra special? The lawnmower we're using was a generous gift from another neighbour a while back. They got a new lawnmower, as a result, their upgrade became our tool to tackle this overgrown beauty. It's neighbours helping neighbours in action! 💚 Always Donation-Based: Since the beginning, We've operated on a donation basis. Neighbours decide what to pay, making our services accessible to all. It's not just about the tasks; it's about building connections, spreading love, and creating a positive ripple effect in the community. 🌟 If you are in the Ipswich or the surrounding areas and would like some help with any gardening/pressure washing, video editing, videography, anything else in our skill set - drop us a line, So whilst we recommend £15 - 25 an hour - You pay what you can afford and what you think the job we've done is worth. if at the end of the task, you don’t think we've done a good job, no expectation of donation at all. Thank you. 📞 07379 936 399 🌐 www.iknowaguy.today Let's keep the mowers humming and the community blooming! 🌿🤝 #NeighbourlyLove #GardenTransformation For those of you who don't know the journey so far: Just under a year ago, at the age of 22, I left my night shifts at the warehouse, embarking on a journey with no savings but an earnest desire to create a meaningful impact in my community while forging my own path in life. Starting with simple gestures like offering free bin cleanings, I found myself diving into gardening. Armed with only bare hands and a plastic bag, I weeded and tended to gardens, with neighbours generously contributing tools and support. This transformative journey saw the growth of both my skills and toolset, from weeding to tackling diverse gardening tasks, pressure washing, painting, video editing, and learning gutter clearing. Gutter clearing was made possible by the neighbours lending me their ladders to use whilst doing their gutters. From humble beginnings of walking around, to a bike and a bag, to now cruising on an electric bike with a double child trailer, my progress is evident. While a van could be in the picture had I cut down on expenses, I have no regrets. This adventure into self-employment has allowed me to give back to the community, making a living in ways I never imagined.
