Although very early stage in the policy evolution, it's certainly perceived more positive than the Biden stance. The view going forward is Biden and the Democrats stifle innovation in the technology sector with increased regulation and taxes, while President Trump aims to foster American leadership in emerging technologies. As observed here many crypto investors are under the age of 40, a demographic that presidential candidates always want on their side. Whew! Congress and Crypto. Today was a big day with the House passage of a new crypto bill. Last week definitely help set the foundation. Who knows what will happen next. For now, let me unpack last week's crypto headline about the Senate vote overturning the SEC's crypto custody rule: SAB121. What's the real story behind the vote? Does it mean Congress loves crypto now? Or does it mean something else? Things we'll unpack are why: - What is SAB121 from the Securities and Exchange Commission, and what does it have to do with crypto? - Why does crypto care about SAB121, and why does anyone else care about SAB121? - SAB121 breathed life into the little known Congressional Review Act. How? - What happens if the President vetoes the bill? What happens if he signs the bill? - How big of a deal is it that Senator Chuck Schumer voted for it (and against the SEC)?
