What does the 2024 European Public Health Week theme “Health is a political choice!” mean to you? “‘Health is a political choice!’ serves as a reminder of the crucial role policymakers play in prioritizing health on political agendas. This entails not only ensuring equitable access to healthcare but also addressing the broader determinants of health across social, environmental, and commercial sectors. It calls for a "Health for All Policies" approach, empowering health leaders to collaborate with other sectors to achieve optimal health outcomes. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of scientists effectively communicating evidence to policymakers in a way that resonates with their terms, means, and circumstances, fostering informed decision-making for the benefit of all. To truly address major health challenges such as non-communicable diseases, climate change, artificial intelligence, epidemics, One Health, and conflicts, we must shift towards a prevention-focused paradigm in healthcare. Living a healthy life should be supported by a holistic healthcare approach where drivers are: Good, preferably organic, food intake Excercise Sleep Accountability on the development of health should be a municipality topic in stead of the responsibility of insurance companies. Measurement of the health development is not so difficult in our currently technology driven society. In the beginning, there was an end to panic and short term actions. And now it's the time to reflect and learn from this global pandemic and it's consequences. As impressed as not surprised, this very experienced, intelligent, competent, humble and human approach. I hope governments in Sweden and the World will adapt my proposed idea and recommendation: Contract hotels and support them with equipment, handling similar crises as emergency vacancy for elder people and those within risk groups (being able to support them with safe good environment) in times of need, instead of shutting down society and help hospitals, healthcare sector to get ability to handle the sick ones. I got the answer: "Good idea, but who will pay for this?" End of discussion. Comment: What's the cost of lives, closing society and healthcare not being able to take care of their patients?

Core Digital Health challenges cannot be solved within national borders. A global approach is needed. GDHP is playing a major role in this regard.
