Next week marks my 3-month anniversary at PVH Corp. (Tommy Hilfiger Calvin Klein) where I'm leading Executive Engagement at the SVP+ levels. My career's purpose has always been about connecting people with the right people, and not just for "opportunities." I try to be intentional about networking, the conversations, and being able to accelerate the careers of others in the direction they have outlined within the created safe space.
Within this role at PVH, when I think of external succession planning and proactive networking, I immediately think of the importance of building relationships and not just filling requisitions/roles. I believe it's crucial for leadership (Talent Teams included) to meet others who aren't in their network or network adjacent, and to prioritize diversity, equity, belonging, and equality for all. Leaders and Talent Teams should get to know the human being, as well as the skillset attached to the human being. I think this makes a difference within recruitment and retention.
MY ASK/REQUEST
As I begin my extensive networking with individuals in Fashion/Apparel, Retail/CPG, and Beauty, I have a few asks/requests:
1. If there is anyone in your network who I should get to know (especially at the leadership level) from a pure networking perspective, let me know.
2. If you're interested in PVH Corp (Tommy Hilfiger or CK), don't hesitate to reach out.
3. Next year, I'll build our executive talent networking events with diversity at the forefront. If you're at the VP+ level, and want to know more, want to expand your network, and/or want to join to network and learn more about PVH, don't hesitate to reach out.
4. Lastly, if you have a referral for any of the above, don't hesitate to reach out.
I'm truly excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in a new industry, and I can't wait to connect with new friends and colleagues.
