I recently had the chance to join a Product/Design leadership roundtable organised by Wave Talent. It was such a great experience to connect with other leaders in the fintech space and share our experiences. It's amazing how, no matter the size or structure of our companies, we all face similar challenges - weird, right? We covered a lot of interesting topics, like: - Quantifying the value of good design: How can we show its impact to get stakeholders on board? - Prioritising design tasks: What’s the best way to decide what comes first? - Product-Design friction: How can we work together more smoothly? - AI and the future of fintech: What changes are on the horizon? - Becoming unicorns: How is the role of design evolving, and what does the future look like for new designers? Honestly, sessions like these are so valuable. I learned a ton from hearing how other leaders handle tough situations. A big thanks to Inez Sayer and Ethan Green for putting this event together. Right after I read TRACTION, I applied this one idea to an employee who was really creating problems. It became so obvious she didn't want to be a team player (she G'd it and C'd it . . . but didn't W it). We let her go. While we still had a long way to go on our EOS Worldwide journey back then, we took that first step and we improved. Since then, we have been improving quarter-by-quarter and just came off one of the best quarters in years having hit over 80% of our quarterly goals (aka ROCKs). TRACTION: Read it. Try it. Apply it. Just wrapped up an incredible event among SaaS women leaders, and the insights were invaluable. The focus? Working "on the business," not just "in the business." 🌟 Every piece of content was spot-on for this targeted group of attendees. 💡 One standout remark summed up the essence of the day for me: "A department can't be crushing it if the company isn't crushing it." It's about ALL leaders understanding AND owning all organizational metrics—pipeline, ARR, revenue, CAC, retention, COGS, cash, etc. — because our collective success fuels the company's success. Kudos to Cassie Young and Primary Venture Partners for orchestrating an amazing event that hit the bullseye of relevance. 🎯 I'm thankful to all the speakers for generously sharing their insights and expertise.
