𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗔𝗤 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁? Indoor air quality (IAQ) is vital for health as we spend around 90% of our time indoors. Poor IAQ, caused by pollutants like smoke, mold, and household chemicals, can lead to respiratory issues, heart disease, cognitive problems, and cancer. Children, the elderly, and low-income households are particularly at risk. The NIEHS focuses on researching IAQ's effects on health and encourages community action to reduce exposure and improve living conditions through education and innovative technologies.  𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 • Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation by opening windows and using exhaust fans. • Air Purifiers: Use HEPA air purifiers to filter out pollutants. • Humidity Control: Maintain indoor humidity levels between 30-50% to prevent mold growth. • Smoke-Free Environment: Avoid smoking indoors to reduce harmful pollutants. • Chemical Awareness: Use natural cleaning products and avoid synthetic fragrances. • Smart HVAC systems: Smart HVAC systems, such as ZAMBA EWS, can control your indoor air quality using smart sensors and air filtration.
