#applicationfriday | This week's focus is on a vacuum gripper with integrated air channels that helped our customer SSI SCHÄFER achieve incredible productivity gains. Using the EOS P 396 system and PA 2200 material, the weight of the gripper was successfully reduced by over 70%, setup time was significantly reduced by 80%, and production time was increased by approximately 120 hours per year. The gripper procurement time has been reduced from several weeks to a few days, and the integration of functions has reduced assembly time and the number of parts from 18 to 6. After hours of working with an #SLM system, there is a chance of sitting the soot on the internal surfaces of the chamber. Cleaning the window where the #laser beam goes through becomes critical, as the attenuation due to the dirt on the window gets larger, and not enough power may reach the powder bed.
