10 ways to be more bold in your career

10 ways to be more bold in your career

Here are a few learnings that are helping me be more bold in my career, and in sharing them, I hope will help you as well.

  1. Success and failure are not mutually exclusive. So as you grow and succeed, you will also learn a ton. Brace yourself.
  2. Understanding that everything happens for a reason, so don't worry about a ton of things. Remember that they're in line with their destiny. Just do your best.
  3. Understanding that what you study in school gives you more than just base skills in one area. So, just because you study accounting, doesn't mean you can only be an accountant. Be open minded and understand that you possess cross-functional skills.
  4. Don't dwell on rejection. It is redirection and for your protection.
  5. Give yourself some grace. Understand that you don't always have to have a plan for stuff, and even if you do, your plan may not always come to fruition. Remember, number two. Everything happens for a reason.
  6. Remember that not everyone will like you and that's okay. Understand that you weren't brought here to please everyone.
  7. Never dim your light or play small in order to make other people feel comfortable.
  8. Listen more than you speak.
  9. Stop being so apologetic. Don't apologize for things that you had no hand in, and stop apologizing for other people's shortcomings. This is the quickest way to become a scapegoat. Of course apologize where you've wronged.
  10. Allow yourself to revel in the moment. Don't try and think so much about what's next, that you forget to live in the present moment and enjoy what life has for you right now. Just don't slip into complacency.

And here's a bonus one for you. Remembering that not everything is worth the debate. Reclaim your time. This will help you save a lot of stress and hassle in life. I hope you enjoyed these tips, and hopefully they will help you become more bold in your career, as they are helping me.
