2022 Year in the Rearview
A look back at our team's biggest 2022 moments and milestones.

2022 Year in the Rearview

2022 was a year filled with innovation, growth and historic achievement for our teams. We announced major investments in North American manufacturing, dramatically expanded our available driver assistance technology and revealed a total of five all-new Ultium-powered electric vehicles—the Chevrolet SilveradoEquinox and Blazer EVs, the Cadillac CELESTIQ and the GMC Sierra EV Denali.

As we rev up for the new year, join us on an all-electric drive down memory lane as we reflect on some of our biggest moments and milestones.

January—$7B MI Manufacturing Investment

We kicked off the year by announcing a historic investment of $7 billion in four Michigan manufacturing sites—the largest single investment announcement in our history.

Including the construction of a new Ultium Cells LLC battery cell manufacturing plant in Lansing and the conversion of our assembly plant in Orion Township, this Michigan investment is working to significantly increase our battery cell and electric truck manufacturing capacity.

In North America, we're aiming to increase our electric vehicle capacity to more than 1 million units by the end of 2025.

April—ESG Supplier Pledge

Our vision for a zero-emission, all-electric future inspires us to prioritize global climate action.

That's why we've invited our global suppliers to join us in signing our ESG Supplier Pledge in order to help establish a collaborative supply chain endeavoring to help minimize environmental impact and enhance long-term sustainability. This innovative pledge works to help reduce our carbon footprint as we aim to become carbon neutral in our global products and operations by 2040.

At this time, suppliers representing more than 68% of our direct materials purchase value have signed on.

August—Super Cruise Mileage Expansion

Super Cruise [1]—the industry's first true hands-free driver assistance technology—continues to expand.

By doubling our road network compatible with Super Cruise Advanced Driver Assistance Technology, we're making hundreds of thousands of additional miles of roads available to be explored hands-free in the U.S. and Canada on compatible vehicle models. Super Cruise will soon work not only on interstates, but on many additional state and federal routes as well.

At the time of our announcement, our customers had driven more than 34 million miles with Super Cruise engaged.

Many thanks to everyone involved in Leading the Charge! What a great event for all of us. It's been a great year, but let's turn our 360 lenses to the road ahead. It looks fantastic!

General Motors should check out what the #Aussies are doing! Apparently, they have been able to retrofit diesel engines to burn a mixture of 90 % hydrogen & 10 % diesel. Great potential for transition of existing fleets to renewables. https://newsroom.unsw.edu.au/news/science-tech/new-system-retrofits-diesel-engines-run-90-cent-hydrogen

I’ll believe that when you guys properly ECU tune my Trax to go up a hill without requiring the Turbos help to get it up there. Seriously I lose too much fuel economy every time. Even just a small angle and it will go down as much as 20 MPGs.

Always been a fan of GM and looking for some help. I’m currently investing in 3 new vehicles. Cadillac CT5, beautiful new blazer and a trailblazer as my son’s first car. I would have turned my current leases in back in July but little to no inventory. Upon extending using pandemic program the caveate was loss of equity in no paying down the balance (renting) for that period, hence now upon turn in I have loss over $12K between market value and no change in car payoff/buyout for the last 6 months. In short I have been a fan again for decades (father worked 30 years) and come from a GM family and even worked there as a student at one time. I’m really hoping GM can do something as I tried goodwill program, sales, customer service to no avail. I know GM will come through as it has in the past for me and feel free to reach out. Apologize for using this forum but cannot find any of channel for help. Thanks again.
