Addressing the Families’ Role in Drug and Alcohol Addiction in Connecticut

No family of a drug or alcohol addict goes unaffected by the tragedy and the turmoil of addiction.

We now know that addiction creates stressors that are difficult to manage and that cause feelings of anger, frustration, loneliness, anxiety, great despair and guilt. We know that addiction can literally tear at the very fabric that holds a family together.

We also know that any attention given to family dynamics during addiction treatment and recovery often pays great dividends for all concerned.
