April Newsletter - Sustainability Recruitment update

Dear readers,

Welcome to our newsletter, where we keep you updated on the latest trends and opportunities in the sustainability recruitment market. Today, we are going to focus on a concerning trend that many organizations are experiencing - the difficulty in finding qualified candidates with a strong sustainability skill set.

As companies become more focused on their sustainability goals and practices, the demand for professionals with a background in sustainability is increasing. However, the supply of such candidates is not meeting the demand. Many candidates with sustainability backgrounds are being snapped up quickly, which leaves companies struggling to fill their sustainability positions.

This gap in the market is particularly concerning as sustainability is becoming an increasingly important aspect of many organizations' overall strategies. The need for sustainability experts will only continue to grow in the years to come. If companies are unable to find qualified candidates, they risk falling behind their competitors and missing out on opportunities to drive positive change.

So, what can organizations do to address this issue? One approach is to invest in upskilling current employees with sustainability skills. Many existing employees may have transferable skills that could be developed to meet the sustainability needs of the organization. Another approach is to partner with a search firm such as ourselves, who have access to not just active candidates in the market, but also passive candidates who may not be actively looking for their next role.

It's important to note that finding the right sustainability candidates is not just about technical skills. It's also about finding candidates who are passionate about sustainability and have a strong desire to drive positive change. Companies should therefore consider how they can demonstrate their own sustainability commitments and initiatives to attract the right candidates. One of the benefits of partnering with someone like us is that we ask these questions of both companies and candidates, to ensure that we can find the perfect match and perfect role for both parties!

In conclusion, the sustainability recruitment market is becoming increasingly competitive, with a shortage of qualified candidates with sustainability skills. However, there are strategies that companies can implement to address this issue and ensure they are attracting and retaining the right talent. We will continue to monitor this trend and keep you updated on any developments.

•The banking industry is facing mounting pressure to meet fast-changing demands in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues

•To meet these expectations, banks must adapt their IT systems to systematically collect, aggregate, and report on a broad range of ESG data. However, many financial institutions still do not have a comprehensive approach to integrating ESG data into their existing risk reporting.
