Attitudes to AI in the OTT Industry

Attitudes to AI in the OTT Industry

How are we, in the OTT industry, feeling about artificial intelligence?

That question was the driver for a survey that we recently conducted among (predominantly) senior OTT professionals.

Seven months after ChatGPT burst onto the scene, we wanted to understand their sentiments toward it and other, more OTT-specific, AI systems.

How, if at all, were they using AI in their jobs? What impact might AI have on different parts of their business? And were they concerned at all that, in the short or medium term, their roles could be supplanted entirely by AI?

The top line results were fascinating – see below.

Look forward to reading your comments.

Really great you put this together, Kauser. It's an interesting read. I'm curious to see what the use cases are in two years, however. I think there will be innovation in AI (not just GenAI) we haven't seen yet. As for execs thinking they are less replaceable than middle management and admin, I think the differentiator will be those who use AI to give them an edge and those who don't. Of course, when Copilot and other tools become integrated, then a lot of people will not be as conscious of using it.
