Backlash Beer Company Signs 10 Year Lease in Feldman's Headquarters Building

Backlash Beer Company and Tap Room has signed a 10-year lease with landlord,
Feldman Surveyors for a brewery and tap room.  The brewery will be operating
downstairs from Feldman’s headquarters which is located in Boston between the
South End, Dudley Square and the Newmarket area.  The building is an 1850s
factory building that once housed the Boston Piano Company and is now returning
to its manufacturing roots.  The brewery will have 2600 sf of production space
and 3000 sf of tap room and retail space.  There is also a 24-car parking lot and
an abundance of street parking for those who visit via car.  In addition, there will be games,
events and a potential for outdoor seating. Construction should begin within
the month and there should be some retail activity in the fall!

Other new activity in this growing neighborhood includes Bully Boy Distillery’s
craft cocktail bar that is now open for business and Prospect Cider Works
(formerly known as Harvard Cider Company) that will be producing hard cider
sometime in May or June. Some people are already referring to this area in the
Newmarket IDA as the Fermentation District so the area will be ready for some
more restaurants and other retail uses.
