Celebrating Pride as a ONE Ansys Family

At Ansys , we continued our ongoing tradition of celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community this #PrideMonth. Our theme this year was “One Family,” because we recognize the importance of family in shaping all of our experiences. LGBTQIA+ folks often rely on a combination of biological and chosen family to feel seen and uplifted, and many allies who are family members of LGBTQIA+ people have a strong desire to support their loved ones.

To tap into this theme of family, we brought on a new team member, David Firth, who joins us as co-sponsor of the Pride Alliance employee resource group alongside executive sponsor Renee DeMay. Dave wrote a heartfelt blog about his experiences as a father and why he chooses to support the Pride community at Ansys. We are thankful for his advocacy and mentorship as we continue uniting allies and LGTBQIA+ colleagues at Ansys.

We also held an insightful Conversation Café tailored to parents and family members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Ansys employees had a chance to connect with each other and share personal stories, struggles, and successes around coming out or supporting loved ones on their journey to authentic living.

Around the world, Ansys employees engaged in a variety of fun activities this month. We had daily trivia questions revolving around Pride history and general knowledge. Employees participated in our virtual Pride 5k Run/Walk, with some offices holding in-person meetups to enjoy the challenge together.

Lastly — and some people’s favorite — we hosted our annual Pride Bake-Off competition. With the power of sugar and butter, folks baked pride-themed delights and shared their creations both online and with each other at some of our offices.

Overall, we had a lot of fun this Pride Month, but more importantly, we came together as our #ONEAnsys family. Celebrating and uplifting our LGBTQIA+ colleagues occurs year-round, but during this special month, we wanted to ensure all of Ansys had time to learn, engage, and enjoy each other’s company. We look forward to many great initiatives on the horizon throughout our #LifeAtAnsys.
