Charging Toward Our Future

Charging Toward Our Future

As we close out 2023, there’s much to say about the steps General Motors has taken toward our vision of a world with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion. It has been a challenging but rewarding year. We’ve welcomed some incredible new leaders, made progress on our #EV transition and are fundamentally strengthening the company.

I’m incredibly proud of the GM team for all we accomplished in 2023, and for the hard and necessary work to take a deep look at our business and make the changes needed to ensure our success in the coming years and decades.

ICE Leadership

As always, this begins with delivering products that our customers love. We have earned leadership in key segments like full-size pickups and full-size SUVs and are gaining new customers with high-demand introductions like the Chevrolet Trax. Continuing to win with our ICE (internal combustion engine) portfolio is critical to maintaining customer relationships and growing loyalty, while fueling our EV transition and future growth.

EV Momentum

We’re bringing the right entries into the right segments to excite EV enthusiasts and convert EV intenders.

In 2024, we’ll be focused on continuing to improve EV production and the critical launches and volume ramp of several EVs. This will include the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Blazer EV, MotorTrend’s SUV of the Year. We will quickly and efficiently ramp up production of these two vehicles, both aimed at the heart of the market.

We’re working hard, along with various industry and government entities, to grow public charging infrastructure. We must convince potential EV customers that their travel experience will be as easy and seamless as an ICE experience. And as demand increases, we will have the manufacturing capacity to meet it.

Autonomous Vehicles

What Cruise has accomplished over the past eight years is nothing short of remarkable. We are working intensely to address challenges at Cruise because we are committed to the important safety benefits of this technology.

We remain committed to supporting the independent safety reviews and Cruise as they refocus on trust, accountability and transparency.

Software Growth

Finally, another focus for us is the huge growth opportunity we have in #software, and services, an area with tremendous upside potential. We have put in place a dedicated software and services team helping us reimagine the entire customer experience.

Not only will our innovations provide customers with unmatched technology, we’ll also capture additional revenue with a very different margin profile than the business that we have today.

Historic transformations like ours don’t happen overnight – especially when the goal is to make significant, enduring change. It requires flexibility, agility and quick adjustments to dynamic market conditions. Through all of this, our strategy remains the same. We are steadfast in our commitment to the #electric, #autonomous future, and are acting with purpose to successfully manage this critical point in our journey. We are transforming on our terms – with a clear vision, the courage of our convictions and confidence in our team.

Don't shop here. They nor GM cares about your safety. $$$$$ is all they care about. My vehicle has been in for service 6 times. The infotainment system locks up, like everything is on mute. I can't use my phone, Instagram or radio. I am a disabled senior citizen, live very rural. What happens if I have an emergency and this freezes? I am afraid to drive this. Dealership doest care and GM just wants payments, GM is aware of this and can't figure out a fix, so wipe their hands. If I die in this vehicle GM is responsible Se

I was watching your Silverado commercial on TV and the landscape and scenery that you used. I am wondering why you would not go back to the exact spot of the opening line of Sound of Music in the Swiss Alps and do a commercial there, with the same camera angles. No better way than to pull on people's heartstrings and bring back fabulous memories in a subtle, subliminal way without saying a word about it.

Truly looking forward to being a part of GM's EV program. With our onboard battery recharging system that charges the battery pack when it reaches 10% as the vehicle is moving. We can truly eliminate Recharge Anxiety! I look forward to sharing this with Mary Barra in the near future.
