Commemorating Military Appreciation Month

Commemorating Military Appreciation Month

I want to share a bit about one of our Lockheed Martin employees, Donald Flowers.

Donald is an Army veteran and retiree, serving 30 years in the military with active duty, reserve, and National Guard experience. During his time with the armed forces, Donald held several roles, including crew chief, tank commander, equal opportunity advisor, and inspector general.

While he was serving in the Army, Donald was also building his career. Just a few weeks ago, Donald celebrated 50 years of service with the company. Donald is a manufacturing engineer and works on several programs in Ocala, Florida. He began his journey as a technical intern while he was still in high school. His passion was always building and putting things together.

Over the course of 50 years, Donald has seen and led revolutionary change across our business by implementing new technology. He shared “I was able to be a part of the innovation. I could put my hand on it—I have enjoyed every minute of it”.

Donald is also a Deacon at his local church, and is deeply entrenched in his community, along with his family, including his three children.

I want to thank Donald for his service, as well as his dedication to our company.

I am proud to work at Lockheed Martin because we’re a company that supports our military community not only during this month, but throughout the year. As we approach the end of Military Appreciation Month with the remembrance of Memorial Day, let’s continue to show our gratitude to our veterans, service members, and military spouses and families who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms.

He has exact same name as me and I'm also former military, small world and thanks for your service.
