Design Thinking & Politics

Design Thinking & Politics

In developing #countries, what keeps a #nation backwards is not the lack of sources. There are couple things that keep people behind from advanced countries.

One of the major reasons is  that people are busy talking about the country’s current situation. #Politics cover all media sources, and dinner tables. People are so busy discussing the president or those dramatic events happened that day. This is why they are drained. How can one expect these people to stay creative? And here #creativity doesn’t mean doing some #art , but thinking broad, thinking about alternative #futures, or asking what-if questions (some of the characteristics of #design thinking) and coming up with constructive #solutions to things in his life. A #creative person is curious, is filled with #love and humility, and is patient.

This is why coming from #Turkey, I rejected joining this act of giving full energy to my country’s political issues. This is not being selfish or not being unfaithful to my country, but rather being beneficial for my #country . I knew if I can protect my self a little bit from the negative vibes of the politics, I can actually focus on building a #career, be good at it, and come back and do good for my country; be good as a #citizen, and raise my kids better people than I am.

If you want to move forward, your focus has to be only the best. And the way to be the best is to know what you want, and do what you want.

Today while developed countries are discussing about Taking Sharing Economy Further, developing countries are busy worrying about the stability of their standard #economy, let alone finding an alternative to that. A nation’s future is only dependent on the individuals, rather than governments. And to take a nation forward we need to focus on ourselves rather than on the political leaders.

Nice post Cansu Ozgul! I couldn't agree more with your post and I can say that this situation applies to many other countries in the world. Sadly many people in the world can't understand that one thing is the country's people and quite another the its politics and politicians. Regards and keep writing my friends!
