AMBITIOUS MINDS NEWSLETTER // OCTOBER 2023

On Empathy, Loving Adversity and The Ripple Effect

Hello Ambitious Minds and welcome to my first "official" newsletter,

The intention of this monthly newsletter is to create a community of unreasonably ambitious, bold and inspired humans to create the future they want to live in.

Each month I will be sharing carefully curated content intended to energise and inspire action beyond where you think you are or are capable of. It will provoke you, get you going deep and wide and you give the insights, tools and techniques to be the entrepreneur of your own life.

I will also be sharing stories and celebrating all of your wins big or small and, with permission, using your stories of personal and professional transformation to help others be brave.

You will also receive access to exclusive events and content along the way.

Are you ready?

Take my hand as we embark on the road less travelled….

TACTICAL EMPATHY

Have you heard? Hard-arse leadership is out. Getting in touch with your feelings is in. In a world that is becoming increasingly digitised and automated, the power of feelings and empathy are viewed as top commodities.

Read my recent article for Kochie's Business Builders as I discuss why empathy is the key to your competitive advantage and whether we are all capable of truly tapping into it as a leadership trait.

LET'S TALK ADVERSITY

After our live session a few weeks ago and the feedback we received, James Kelley, Ph.D. and I have decided to collaborate on a weekly series for our combined community of "Ambitious Minds". We will be sharing raw and unscripted conversations around the BIG topics for leaders today - be ready for some hard truths, thought-provoking moments and a lot of laughs.

The first season of 6 weekly episodes will launch on Monday 30th October and will focus on adversity, and how leaders can use it to their competitive advantage and learn to lead as who they are, not what they know.

Monday 30th October we kick off with "Learning to love adversity as your secret weapon". Register now to join us.

THE RIPPLE EFFECT

In partnership with Nick Leigh at Meld Studios we’ve redesigned traditional approaches to strategy to help many of our clients across industries become built for the future.

In the education sector, we have had the privilege to stand alongside 4 elite schools ready to reimagine education to support girls to become future-ready leaders in life and at work.

In particular we would like to celebrate Kalea Haran Principal of Penrhos College who shared the ripple effect of their hard work at a national conference for the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia on the Gold Coast where she was invited to share the bold approach behind their strategic plan using design-thinking to fuel their new direction.

True leaders take their success and share it with those around them, short circuiting the time it takes others to create positive impact. Congratulations Kalea, leading the way in education innovation with the school’s audacious vision  to revolutionise girls’ education so we can all live a future without boundaries.

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it. – Margaret Fuller

Fab Vanessa!!!!! Cannot wait to read more…

I look forward to hearing more from you Vanessa. I would be interested in hearing how someone with real talent in leadership can stand out from those who purport to lead, but usually fail in even the basic elements of leadership.
