Employee Spotlight: Samira Andaleeb Anwar

Joining the Blue Beyond team in 2021, Samira has 20 years of experience in strategic communications, organizational change, and management consulting across a variety of industries including technology, pharmaceutical, education, aerospace, housing, and banking.

She earned a B.S. in Finance from Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland. She is known for her ability to cultivate meaningful client relationships built on delivery success, trust, and personal values.

What drew you to Blue Beyond?

I've had an opportunity to work in a variety of industries throughout my career, experiencing diverse organizational cultures, leadership styles, team dynamics, and approaches to change. I wanted to join a company where I could build on the knowledge and insights I've picked up along the way, in service of helping organizations unlock the potential of their people and programs. I wanted to contribute to work that makes a difference -- with a team of people who share my values. I was lucky enough to find Blue Beyond Consulting where I get to partner with colleagues and clients every day to engage in meaningful, impactful work.

What is one of the most exciting or meaningful projects you've been a part of so far? It’s hard to choose just one when I have a chance to work with so many amazing clients who are tackling complex challenges and always looking for opportunities to improve the lives of their employees and customers.

Recently, I worked on a project where we interviewed leaders and facilitated employee focus groups to help uncover and articulate what makes their company unique and special. A series of candid conversations offered compelling insights into the employee experience. The findings from this effort helped inform a refreshed employee value proposition and communications strategy. This type of work energizes me, as I’m always curious about our client’s stories as well as how information flows through an organization and contributes to a thriving culture.

What are you hoping to accomplish here at Blue Beyond? Our work at Blue Beyond involves engaging leaders and employees from a variety of industries, geographies, and functional areas to unlock the potential of their people and programs. Our clients are bringing cutting-edge technologies to market, they are working towards housing affordability, and they are saving lives through the development of innovative medicines, just to name a few examples. ​I hope to continue partnering with our clients to help create thriving organizations where teams are empowered and positioned for impact.

Blue Beyond recently refreshed its values. Which value resonates most with you and why? Blue Beyond consultants bring an "owner’s mindset" to each client engagement. This resonates with me because it's how I think about our work. Supporting our clients involves deep listening, thought partnership, commitment to excellence, and heart. Our team members take pride in representing our shared values and making sure our clients know they can count on us.

Where do you find joy and passion in your work? The joy in my work comes from relationships and impact. It’s always exciting when diverse teams with unique perspectives and experiences come together to create innovative solutions in service of making a difference for our clients.

Tell us about what you are passionate about outside of work. I’m definitely passionate about being a theater mom! My daughters are involved with music theater, as well as vocal programs, ballet, and piano. I enjoy watching them prepare for show day with hard work, commitment, and team spirit – all of which could come in handy should they choose to pursue a career in consulting in the future ;-) ​

 I also enjoy dancing and recently had a chance to join our local Bollywood dance team and perform at my daughter’s school for Multicultural Night!
