Fisher- Price is 90 Years Young and it’s a good reminder of why we do what we do

Fisher-Price, the leading baby and preschool brand, is celebrating a 90th milestone and while preparing for this campaign, I have rediscovered breakthrough moments in our history that have not only inspired me but make my love for the brand bigger. My days are long and intense, our offering is diverse and sometimes complex in the multiple markets across EMEA, but I bring everything I have to my role because it’s an privilege and pleasure to serve our ultimate customer: Kids. And we’ve all been kids.

Fisher-Price has been a staple of millions of happy childhoods and has a rich history of innovation. It was the first to use and term the phrase ‘Preschool Toys’ (1934), the first to create licensed toys with Disney (Mickey Mouse product -1935), the first company to create a play lab (1961) and one of the first companies to make coding available to preschool kids with the introduction of the award-winning code-pillar (2016). 

But throughout our brand history in whichever country or form you have encountered us, Fisher-Price has always been an ally to the exciting adventure of parenthood and making each moment of childhood magical and fun; we believe play is not a means to an end, but an end all on its own. And that’s a guiding star for everything we do.

That’s why we’ve launched the 90th Fisher-Price challenge, to hear about peoples favourite Fisher-Price memories because everyone has one and its great to be reminded of the joy and happiness that you had as a child, parent, uncle, grandparent or gifter with our brand. 

So, join us in remembering a joyful moment of your experience and as our new brand campaign reminds us, allow yourself to grown-down, even if just for a moment in time, because we’ve all been kids and it’s a place we can always return. Even when you are 90!

I always have fond memories of the Fisher-Price TV set with the carousel and the Frère Jacques music. My uncle had cerebral palsy and wasn't able to speak due to his disability and he adored playing with these and they always remind me of when I played with him as a child.

My brother and I loved the Fisher Price garage - the cars, He-Man, and Optimus Prime travelled in that lift!
