Ford's New Electric Lineup

In a January announcement, Ford announced that it is going to transition many of its vehicles to hybrid electric models. This is going to include the two icons in Ford’s product line, the Mustang and the F-150. This is a remarkable statement for this company considering they have released very limited electric and hybrid options in the past 5 years and they are one of the last major automakers to make this transition.

For many car and truck enthusiasts, the transition over to hybrid and electric may be a difficult one. These new cars have smaller engines, resulting in a much different experience but Ford is anticipating this and is using the hybrid addition to best meet the needs of each individual vehicle. For example, the F-150 will use its hybrid addition to run as a generator for job site conveniences and the hybrid Mustang is promised to have V-8 like performance. With these new vehicles being tailored to their most expected uses, Ford has made a strong bid for expanding its already nation leading sales.
