From NextGen Interns to Professionals: Blankfactor's Success Story in Medellín

Six months ago, Blankfactor concluded its NextGen Internship program in Medellín. Today, we celebrate the success of our interns, four of whom are now full-time employees contributing significantly to our most exciting projects.

Here, we share their experiences, growth, and insights.

Hands-On Experience and Professional Growth

David Medina highlights the immersive, hands-on nature of the internship at Blankfactor.

"The internship program at Blankfactor was incredibly rewarding. It provided a hands-on experience from day one, immersing us in real-world software development projects alongside experienced professionals."

David emphasized the program's unique focus on bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional expertise, setting it apart from other internships in the area.

After six months of working on client projects, David feels inspired and confident.

"It has significantly improved our ability to handle complex tasks and meet client expectations," he said.

Juan Quintero echoed David's sentiments, finding the program enriching and professionally rewarding.

"These six months have been full of new things for me, talking with clients, understanding what they want, and facing a project where I have to understand it as quickly as possible to fit into the team," he reflected.

Juan emphasized the importance of adaptability, good programming practices, and active communication—skills honed during his internship—that continue to influence his work today.

Cultivating a Culture of Growth and Excellence

David Medina also spoke about the pivotal role of Blankfactor's culture in his professional development.

Luis Hincapié praised the supportive team, leaders, mentors, and fellow interns, highlighting how the real-world environment and client projects were highly motivating.

"The quality of leadership and mentorship during the internship was exceptional," he said. Luis emphasized the importance of the guidance provided by team leads, which made him feel like a valued team member rather than just a mentee.

"The experience helped us improve teamwork, effective communication, and understanding of the company culture," he shared.

These soft skills were crucial in preparing them for their current roles, making it easier to join new projects and face professional challenges. The bond among interns, facilitated by experienced mentors, fostered a sense of camaraderie and mutual support.

"We developed a great friendship," all of them added, underscoring the collaborative spirit cultivated during the internship.
