Global Data-Specialists Shortage Growth

According to a recent report published by the Royal Society, the number of global data specialists in the global workforce - professionals with highly specialised data skills - has tripled to +231%, according to a labour market analysis for data science skills commissioned by Dynamics.

CIOs, big data and analytics are now their main points of contact, with a significant increase in demand from companies from all over the world. The report analysed the demand for professional, highly specialised data experts, including data scientists, data analysts and data engineers, as well as data managers and analysts.

The fastest growing roles are played by data scientists and advanced analysts, who are forecasting 58 million artificial intelligence jobs created in the next four years alone.

According to the World Economic Forum's Global Data Specialists Report, Europe will need 346,000 additional data scientists by 2026 alone. There will be 28 digital jobs that require specialized data - scientific skills. In parallel, the impending recession and pandemic outbreaks will bring a wave of automation to the economy.

The demand for data analysis has grown exponentially in recent years, but there are not enough educated people to meet that demand. Simply put, there are not enough data scientists to visit, and the rising demand from analytics companies is leading to an exponential shortage of data scientists.

The lack of data scientists, in turn, creates opportunities for existing data scientists to complement projects and solve more business problems.

And this is an important opportunity for companies to harness the value of big data to make informed business decisions.

So, there are some ways to reduce the impact of this bottle-neck:

  • Hunt data-specialists from the market despite of increasing remuneration and shortage.
  • Collaborate with Universities and Ed programs to pick-up talents just after their graduation.
  • Arrange internal educational program to nurture data-specialist inside your company.
  • Equip your data-specialists with latest RPA solutions to make them top effective.
  • Empower your decision makers with self-analytics business intelligence software, designed for people, who does not have data processing and coding skills.

Now it is not only data-mining era, it becomes a data-specialist-mining too )
