Google Outlook Bad

GOOG stock down -4% today. Gemini AI rollout issues, Gartner report as causes. For many investors, Google is not innovating fast enough to protect itself against the rise of Generative A.I. and Information Retrieval.

It's own Generative A.I. product drew criticism for racially infused results, among other questionable outputs. For a company of Google's size and reputation to stumble out of the gate like this is terrible, especially because it's own existential neck is on the line.

In terms of Information Retrieval ,Generative A.I. poses an existential threat to Google's search.

I wrote before that Google's company-wide search traffic looks foreseeably stagnant.

It might be worse.

A new Gartner research report estimates a -25% loss in Google's traffic as early as 2026?!

I'm glad I sold my GOOG stock a few weeks ago. The other major reason to get out is, it's near it's 5-year high, and facing too many headwinds. Other major digital advertisers such as META, are thriving.
