Happy holidays

As we wrap up 2015, it always calls for a time of thanks, reflection and celebration. I would be remiss if I didn't thank my many friends and colleagues here on LinkedIn.  When I started using LinkedIn back in 2007 people didn't quite grasp the benefits of another social network.  I would also say that the site continues to evolve (for good and for bad) as membership grows.  One thing that has remained steady is that LinkedIn continues to serve as a solid online Rolodex that updates automatically when people change jobs or get promoted.

One of the newer features (for me at least since this is my first one) is Posts.  I commend those of you who have used it to manage your professional brand, share your wisdom, or market your companies.  Since I have not found the proper subject to date I thought this note would serve as the perfect maiden voyage into the Post territory.

It has been a pleasure working for Atkins over the last 4+ years and I wanted to share our holiday card since it is pretty neat.  For those of you who still mail holiday cards I do read them, but it seems like quite a few companies have moved towards the email greeting.  As most of you already know Atkins has about 18,000 employees globally providing full service design and engineering.  We are also trying to recruit future engineers and you need to start young.  As a result the company launched Project gingerbread this holiday season.  I think it is a fun idea to recap our year and what we stand for with some holiday cheer that my 6- and 8-year old (and many other future engineers) can participate in.  Here is the link to the video: http://bit.ly/Atkins_holidays

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday season.  Let us rejoice in all the gifts we have around us every day and look forward to a prosperous 2016.  If there is anything that I can do for you to make next year better please don't hesitate to message me here on LinkedIn or send me an email at [email protected]

Warmest regards,  Ben
