Take these actions TODAY:
If you're really that worried, adjust your LinkedIn settings and make your Connections private.
People are less likely to rip off someone they like. If you make a sincere effort to fraternize with them, they probably won't try to pull a fast one on you. Try saying this, "I wanted to connect with you because I think we could help each other by sharing knowledge and experiences for the good of our clients."
Yeah?
Yaaaaah.

6dIf a competitor can steal your clients from a site such as LI, you need to re-evaluate your definition of client and adjust accordingly. They were never a real client in the first place.
