Ibotta Talks Pride

Ibotta Talks Pride

What is your role at Ibotta? What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

  • I am a Senior Marketing Associate on the lifecycle team. My favorite part of my job is feeling like I’m being listened to and getting to see my ideas brought to life. It’s fun to think outside of the box and see how our Savers resonate with our products. It has brought a lot of meaning to my day to day. I also have such a great team, and they make coming to work fun!

What does it mean to you that Ibotta celebrates Pride Month?

  • I truly love being able to celebrate with my coworkers. Ibotta really gets out there in the festivities - having panels, participating in the Denver Pride parade, and a pride party. Those have been great opportunities to meet other people at work and really thrive in the culture. It also makes me proud to work for a place that is undeniably proud and outspoken about their diverse employees.

Why is visibility and representation important in the workplace?

  • It means everything! I’ve worked at places where I didn’t feel comfortable telling people I was gay right away and had to find safe people to tell. Ibotta has a culture of supporting who you truly are and I felt comfortable from day one being the authentic version of myself at work. It truly transforms what it’s like to go to work everyday and not feel like you have to be careful who you share with. Naturally this makes me more comfortable and confident at work and makes me feel like I can thrive at Ibotta. I really can’t imagine working somewhere else and the representation and culture is a huge part of that.

Who is one LGBTQIA+ person that inspires you? What is the most important lesson you learned from them?

  • Right now my biggest inspiration is Chappell Roan. She is someone who is currently gaining a lot of momentum in the music industry and a lot of the music she writes is about the lesbian experience and navigating that as you start to question your sexuality. What is really beautiful about that is even though I came out in 2010 her music now gaining popularity in 2024 has truly healed a little part of me that had such a hard time coming out and knowing who I was. I love that people who are on that journey now have music like this that they can listen to and process their feelings and know they aren’t alone.
