To In-Person or Not To In-Person? + Startup Events
To attend in-person or not to attend in-person? That is the question! The world of hosting events and workshops has changed -- what an understatement! As an event organizer, I really don't understand what my audience wants right now. During the pandemic, people changed how they prefer to participate. While most say that they look forward to returning to in-person events, many have enjoyed the convenience of attending events virtually, myself included. It's a time of experimentation for event organizers as we try to navigate your preferences. In person event planning is much more complicated so knowing if, and how many, people will show up can be frustrating. Do you feel me?
Speaking of in-person versus online, 1 Million Cups will have its first in-person meeting in over two years on Wednesday, June 8 at 9 AM at Capsity Coworking in Sacramento (plan ahead!). It will also be a hybrid meeting where people can also attend via Zoom. Everyone who attends in person will receive a commemorative 1MC travel mug and there will be a drawing for 1MC t-shirts and ceramic mugs! Will the promise of SWAG get you to come in person? I hope so because I'll be there and I miss seeing you! More info.
