Be a Leader, Right Now!!!!

As I sit here at my desk today it just came to mind that we all have great opportunity during these times. Great Leaders and Heroes legacies are usually carved out during the most difficult times when the chips are down. Right now, we all have the ability to hit that game winning shot like Michael Jordan for the NBA Championship, a walk-off home run like Kirk Gibson in the '88 World Series, or game winning drive when all the pressure is on like Joe Montana did a few times in the Super Bowl. Dwight Eisenhower and Winston Churchill made their marks during the roughest times with odds against them. One of my favorite Churchill quotes is "If you are going through hell, keep going". Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King showed their leadership with all the chips against them, knowing that what they were doing was going to help people for generations to come with their numerous unselfish acts. Granted, these are some big names, however they showed us that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and others, remain calm under pressure, have faith and hope, inspire others, have strong work ethics, the ability to not be afraid to fail and most importantly LOVE.

I am curious how people feel they can make a difference and show leadership in their current situations. Maybe it's a phone call to someone lonely, spending 10 minutes playing catch with your child, a simple act of forgiveness, convincing a co-worker that this is not dooms day and we will all survive and come back stronger, staying positive on conference calls, etc...
