Learnings from the ‘king of the ring’…NIKITA KOLOFF

What do the 4% of the wealthiest, richest, people with the most money, DO that the 96% of us don’t do? That’s what I was learning about in a session with many time National Wrestling Alliance champion and hall of famer Nikita Koloff.

Nikita’s talk was on 3 key areas: Health, Wealth, and the Pursuit of the Spirit within.

My take-aways?

Health – How important is it for us to be healthy physically? SERIOUSLY… not just lip service that you want to ‘go to the gym more’ or ‘lose a few pounds.’ As we age its actually 80% about what passes through our lips and only 205 about exercise. And on the latter, do cardio, high reps/low weight resistance, and stretching.  So portion control and overall living an active life is key. He also recommended periodic fasting.

Wealth – eliminate debt – do not be a slave to any lender. Have multiple accounts, i.e. spending, movements, savings, and charitable giving. Invest in appreciating assets. Pursue wisdom and knowledge in this area – few do. As Nikita shared, ‘wealth is hidden from those who don’t pursue wisdom.’ Have multiple streams of income.

Pursuit of the Spirit – he shared that we should work on these three things, as they can be limits. One, knowledge in one’s mind. Two, strength of our Character. And thirdly, principles that lives are built on.

AND a bonus – we rise and fall to the level of our peers. So take stock of who you’re hanging around with!

During his career, Koloff held championships including the NWA World Six-Man Tag Team ChampionshipNWA World Tag Team Championship, NWA United States Championship, NWA World Television Championship, and UWF World Television Championship. He was inducted into the George Tragos/Lou These Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2006 and the National Wrestling Alliance Hall of Fame of 2008.
