Let’s work on the long game!

Hello,

When it comes to the world of work, we all had to adjust and change over the last two years. A lot of new policies were written, practices set up and leadership principles formulated, and by and large, we were proud at how well we all managed.

But where do we go from here? Back to the office, fully flexible, hybrid, 30 hour weeks, leading by outcomes? Lots of buzzwords meet rapidly changing job profiles, a lack of skilled workers and a massive job rotation. At the moment, I see a lot of reaction in companies but only very little proactive vision.

We now have the chance to really redefine how we effectively organize our teams and work more generally in our organizations - so we perform better and with more purpose.

Join us this Wednesday for this year's first Courageous Leaders Conversation with Microsoft’s Anna Kopp and The DO’s Katherin Kirschenmann.

Some of the topics we will discuss include:

  1. How leaders can ensure their teams stay seamlessly connected
  2. How to foster deep engagement & productivity in a hybrid setting
  3. What’s the right mix of hybrid for different teams and how do we ensure we meet our teams' needs?

I recently collected the narratives of the people already shaping our new courageous and positive world in my new book 'Die Neue Welt'. I met with corporate board members who changed direction and joined a start-up, young change makers who made a global splash without financial backing, and leaders within organizations who are building movements of learning.

I am so thrilled to hear the first feedback of my Book ‘Die Neue Welt’. Nobel Peace Prize nominee Scilla Elworthy says it's “A terrific read”. That's high praise and I am beyond honoured and cannot wait for you to read it. You can pre-order 'Die Neue Welt' from my publishers Murmann Verlag and anywhere else you normally get your books.

Work in a new world also means breaking down employment barriers and increasing diversity.

The DO School Fellow Ryan Gersava used his fellowship to grow social enterprise Virtualahan.

Virtualahan is changing corporate cultures around ability, access and diversity, by enabling people with disabilities or health conditions, who are often excluded from traditional work environments, to join teams and organisations worldwide with their skills remotely. As a result, companies benefit from their contributions and unique skillsets and are better able to address their diverse base, read more here.

Stay safe and let's hope for peace,

Florian Hoffmann
