Making the Move to Visa's New Atlanta Office
My true north has always been pursuing inclusion, diversity and equity. As Chief Diversity Officer and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Visa, I now continue the fight for economic mobility for all – on a global scale. Being at Visa means I can make an impact and collaborate to find solutions that are more inclusive of all communities.
I’m energized to be doing this great work based in the city of Atlanta. I will be making the move to co-lead our new Visa office located at 1200 Peachtree Street in Midtown. Once it’s completed, it will host a wide range of Visa teams and functions, with a particular concentration of technology and client services teams. We will be in a futuristic, state-of-the-art office environment built to inspire creativity and innovation.
As part of our corporate growth strategy, we’re expanding our local presence in areas that will support our clients and their communities. And we’re looking for exceptional talent whose fintech expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and personal passion will help us fulfill the company’s mission – to enable individuals, businesses and economies to thrive. I am a believer that we are better together. And I know how important it is to galvanize extraordinary leaders, people with purpose-driven mindsets and a city with a vibrant culture and resources to give. All of this will enable us to approach business challenges as one unified and powerful team.
We aim to build an inclusive and diverse culture of up to 1,000 employees here over the next several years and will focus on growing careers, advancing skills and doing work that positively impacts our world. Personally, my being was honored through Visa’s purpose: we believe economies that include everyone everywhere, uplift everyone everywhere. I come from humble beginnings and through a series of mentors, sponsors, and opportunities, I achieved corporate success and am dedicated to giving back. In my role at Visa with my colleagues, we are focused on – providing access and opportunity for all people to reach their full potential, financial inclusion, sustainable commerce and environments – for societal and business benefits.
I have lived in Greensboro, North Carolina for 20 years and this community has meant a lot to me. While here, I dedicated the last eight years to looking for solutions to end poverty and together, with my former colleagues at United Way Greensboro, accomplished important work that continues to this day. I plan to dedicate this next chapter of my life to serve Atlanta and its community, in addition to my broader global role at Visa. We have big plans to support local programs that empower Black female entrepreneurs, provide resources to capitalize small businesses, education and training through local universities and community-based organizations. There is so much we can do, together.
