Augmented reality is already a fact and all the energy and resources are being put into making the Metaverse a reality as soon as possible (although it will take years of development).

As you can imagine, the incursion of the Metaverse will mean a change in human behavior and our way of relating to each other.

Therefore, it also implies new opportunities for digital marketing and advertisers. Above all, for Facebook Ads, which is the incumbent company.

Any evolution requires adaptation. 

Those who adapt better and faster are the ones who are better positioned and get the most benefits.

As a reminder and to finish tying up loose ends... 98% of the revenues generated by Facebook correspond to the sale of advertising space and related activities.

We understand the importance of this trend, don't we?

So given the opportunity, let's take a look at Zuckerberg's plans.

#1 Roadmap

Facebook is already testing augmented reality in ad spaces to continue to nurture its learning and evolution.

Patience, these tests as are always starting in the United States with some accounts.

It may take a few years before they reach Europe (which also has greater regulatory and privacy restrictions).

Even so, 3 phases are estimated for 2022:

  1. For the first month an alpha phase of testing with augmented reality and advertising is being launched.
  2. For the second month a more advanced beta phase is being launched.
  3. The goal is that by the third quarter they want to have it properly working in test phase.

#2 Platform and testing

Yes, we already know that if the test is done in the United States it is out of our reach for the moment....
