Multiple Sclerosis in the LGBTQ+ Community

Multiple Sclerosis in the LGBTQ+ Community

Feeling seen and accepted for who we are is essential to our well-being, and something every person deserves. For people with #MultipleSclerosis (MS) in the LGBTQ+ community, it’s also critical to their health.

At a recent internal Biogen event to celebrate #PrideMonth, colleagues across the company engaged in this important topic, discussing the #HealthDisparities that exist for LGBTQ+ with MS and other underrepresented populations.

Together we discussed how conversations like these are vital to increasing awareness and understanding of LGBTQ+ —including the limitations of the term itself—and ways each of us can better support this community.

I’m grateful for Biogen’s deep commitment to #HealthEquity in MS and driving change, because it’s everyone’s responsibility to make spaces safe and inclusive for patients, providers and one another.
