Old age and worthiness

In the Book of Luke chapter 2 we read of a lady who was up in years.   I've looked at the passage and figure she must have been near 100 or more in age.  She was person who ministered the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Up in years, many feel their time is over for serving God.  We see Anna as a person who could have very easily given up her work. In today's time, many just say "Well, I've served my time".  When do we serve out our time?

God's calling is for ever.  Anna knew that God had called her to be a prophetess.  She knew the calling on her life as a Christian would not go away.  (Notice I didn't say as a preacher?  She was a believer as many of us are.)

Anna became a great woman of God through Prayer and fasting.  Yes, fasting and prayer.  Not just a simple 2 minute prayer, she stayed in prayer day and night.  Never stopping her prayer life just because she was getting old, more mature, or up in years how ever you prefer.

Today I challenge you to return to the calling you had as  new believer.  Never let go of your feeling of worth in God's kingdom.  He desires you to serve Him and will bless you for your service.  America and your family needs your prayers.  Fasting brings about strength and power.  Prayer brings results!
