MAJOR NORTH AMERICAN OEM DEPLOYS TOYO'S VEHICLE-IN-THE-LOOP SIMULATOR

Anchored by Rototest Powertrain Dynamometers

In December 2023, a major US OEM deployed and commissioned two TOYO vehicle-in-the-loop simulator (ViLS) platforms anchored by Powertrain Dynamometers from TOYO's subsidiary, Rototest. TOYO's ViLS, also known as the Driving and Motion Test System (DMTS), allows automotive engineers to perform a wide variety of vehicle, environmental, and road tests under real-world conditions but in a more cost-effective and safer lab-controlled setting. The OEM selected the systems from TOYOTech after an intensive search for a solution that met all their requirements. It was a thrilling few weeks as we transformed an empty lab into a dynamic powertrain test facility for this OEM to test their next generation of electric and autonomous vehicles.

THE AUTOMOTIVE WIRELESS TEST SYSTEMS

To ensure that an intelligent connected vehicle operates reliably and with integrity, it is equipped with multiple wireless systems such as V2X, cellular, Bluetooth, and satellite navigation. Testing the full communication performance of these vehicles in a real-world environment presents two major challenges. The first challenge is performing a near-field antenna and EIRP/EIS test under eccentric conditions. The second challenge is recreating a real-world transmission environment in a lab and conducting MIMO performance tests. Our subsidiary, AeroGT Labs, has overcome both of these challenges. TRUE SIM DRIVING SIMULATOR

Jointly developed by TOYO Corporation and Iwane Research Institute, True Sim is a sophisticated video playback software that extracts various information such as feature points from footage captured with a 360-degree camera. It replays footage from the camera perspective/angle at the time of shooting and also converts it into footage from different camera perspectives/angles for playback. We are working on a new, updated video, which includes recently added new capabilities and features; however in the meanwhile, please enjoy the one currently in release.

PERFORMING EMISSIONS MEASUREMENTS ON A HYBRID VEHICLE

Conducting emissions measurements on any electric-powered device is a complex undertaking. Now, consider the added challenge of performing such tests on hybrid vehicles. This video showcases Keysight's latest EMI receiver, PXE, and its application in emissions testing for hybrid vehicles. It introduces the accelerated time domain scan feature, crucial for identifying common noise in modern automobiles. Traditional methods like sweeps may miss certain noise types, but PXE's real-time scan mode captures all frequencies without gaps, offering full signal visibility. The video compares this mode with traditional sweeps, highlighting its advantages in capturing instantaneous pulses. TOYO Corporation's EPX/VE software is also discussed for analyzing noise fluctuations. The video emphasizes the benefits of this integrated solution in evaluating emissions and reducing testing time.
